This is Goa, and therefore, if there are hotels where foreign tourists stay, then there are certainly small shops nearby. Because small businesses always respond sensitively to customer requests, because this is their bread. Such is life and India is no exception in this matter. In the area of Zalor beach there are several hotels for tourists, some of them are located completely out of the way, in Carmona, but the street leading to the beach boasts the presence of two grocery stores (small household goods are also sold here) and a couple of shops with clothes. There are few shops, but this is not the most popular part of Varka. Across the road from the Clarem Guesthouse hotel is one of the clothing shops. Nothing special, but worth a look. And right in the Clarem Guesthouse hotel there is a jewelry shop and a massage parlor.

Sitting on the hotel veranda you can see display cases of jewelry. That's what we did at breakfast.

Packets of tea have been standing here for centuries. It looks like this is all for those who are too lazy or those who decided to make purchases at the last minute. I've never seen anyone buy anything here. Although, on the other hand, I didn’t sit here all day; during the day we hung out on the beach.

So, there are two food stores here, entire supermarkets by local standards. One of them is located in the café building near the CJM hotel. Saleswoman Rose. You can change currency with her, and sometimes fruits and vegetables appear in the store. We bought papaya and water here a couple of times. Usually we went to the village to buy fruit. By the way, there are two ATMs there. But more on that another time. Those who need more choice need to go or go to neighboring Cavelossim.

Rosa's store offers a standard range of products. A bunch of packaged spices, cookies, all kinds of canned food and groceries, water and drinks, tea, coffee, small souvenirs, household items. Many things!

And this is the boss of the store. Employees need to be constantly checked, otherwise they don’t understand anything about sales and will ruin the whole business to hell.

Hier stehen seit Jahrhunderten Teepakete. Es sieht so aus, als wäre das alles etwas für diejenigen, die zu faul sind oder sich in letzter Minute für den Kauf entschieden haben. Ich habe noch nie jemanden gesehen, der hier etwas gekauft hat. Wobei ich andererseits nicht den ganzen Tag hier gesessen habe; tagsüber haben wir am Strand rumgehangen.

Es gibt hier also zwei Lebensmittelgeschäfte, für lokale Verhältnisse ganze Supermärkte. Einer davon befindet sich im Cafégebäude in der Nähe des CJM-Hotels. Verkäuferin Rose. Sie können bei ihr die Währung wechseln, und manchmal erscheinen Obst und Gemüse im Laden. Wir haben hier ein paar Mal Papaya und Wasser gekauft. Normalerweise gingen wir ins Dorf, um Obst zu kaufen. Dort gibt es übrigens zwei Geldautomaten. Aber dazu ein anderes Mal mehr. Wer mehr Auswahl braucht, muss gehen oder ins benachbarte Cavelossim fahren.

Rosas Laden bietet ein Standardsortiment an Produkten. Ein Haufen abgepackter Gewürze, Kekse, allerlei Konserven und Lebensmittel, Wasser und Getränke, Tee, Kaffee, kleine Souvenirs, Haushaltsgegenstände. Viele Dinge!

Und das ist der Chef des Ladens. Mitarbeiter müssen ständig überprüft werden, sonst verstehen sie nichts vom Verkauf und ruinieren das ganze Geschäft.
