DUO Token Update for August 7, 2024!
Happy Wednesday everyone! Here is today's DUO token update.
HP Growth
Right now we're sitting at 11,117 HP! We are continuing to see growth in our overall Hive Power due to sales and the 10% powered up from curations.
90% of all tokens, HBD, etc earned., will be sold off and paid out as dividends. Only 10% will be staked or powered up in order to grow the project.
Remember a minimum of 200 DUO staked is required to be eligible for dividends
Right now, nothing has been delegated to the HOC account while we're still growing the project. We didn't set an exact timeline for this, but we will announce this change once it's effective.
Dividends
The dividends went live on August 1st and will continue to trickle out to those who have staked at least 200 DUO. Some of you may have noticed a bump in the amount you received recently, that was July earnings while we were working out the dividends. You will see the dividends return to their previous levels now, but we hope you enjoyed the nice bonus!
HSBI Raffle for August
The raffle is underway! Sponsor @duo-curator with 1 HSBI share per ticket you'd like to purchase, and you'll have a chance at winning 50 DUO! There will be 3 drawings in total!

Voting weight target
As stated in a previous DUO update we have a target voting weights but we will adjust on the go to insure healthy mana.
Remember a minimum of 200 DUO staked is required to be eligible for curation.

DUO tipping bot calls
For those who stake at least 500 DUO you can begin to use the tipping bot and send tips on quality posts. When you tip someone with DUO you in turn receive the same amount tipped into your account as well. So tipping with DUO rewards you both!

Right now, DUO is being sold for 1 Hive each. The first tranche sold out quite some time back and we are in the middle of the second.
Once it sells out the next tranche of 60,000 DUO will be sold for 1.5 Hive each, so get in early while there's still time!

So only 10% is being powered up, what are you guys the founders getting? Anything extra or just dividends from the tokens you hold?
There's DUO in the duo-curator account, set aside as a project maintenance fee for the founders. As the HP pays out, we pay ourselves the Hive equivalent in DUO based on the monthly HP brought in.
So, if the curation account brings in say 120 HP for the month, each founder gets 40 DUO since they're priced at 1 Hive each right now. As the project grows and demand increases and sales tranches are bought up, the payouts for the founders will likely decrease as DUO price increases.
Right now, the founders have agreed to only keep 700 DUO staked while building up the HP. That way more dividends are paid out to everyone else. 🙂

It seems like THEMARKYMARK is dealing with some personal drama and mental issues, which might be causing them to spam us and others with baby pics, GIFs, and questionable content he's been doing the same for years. The fun doesn't stop there, as this seems to be a recurring theme with multiple online personas. The real question is, do we want to trust these drama-magnets with our hard-earned funds or any significant influence on Hive?
