DUO Status Update - 7/22/24

It's time for an update on how things are going with DUO! There's been a lot happening, so let's dive in and see the status of the project!

HP Growth
We're sitting at over 10,000 HP! That is amazing considering we're not even done with the month of July! We already sold out the first tranche of tokens and are now offering the second tranche at 1 Hive each.

Everything has been powered up to this point. We'll be staking all Hive-Engine tokens earned through July to create a baseline for curation. After that, 90% of all tokens, HBD, etc., will be sold off and paid out as dividends. Only 10% will be staked or powered up in order to grow the project.

Right now, nothing has been delegated to the HOC account while we're still growing the project. We didn't set an exact timeline for this, but we will announce this change once it's effective.

Dividends and Tipping
Just as a reminder, you must stake 200 DUO to receive dividends and be eligible for post curation. The tipping requirements are as follows:

500 staked tips 0.1 (1x/day)
1k staked tips 0.2 (1x/day)
5k staked tips 0.3 (1x/day)
10k staked tips 0.5 (2x/day)

Curation Update
Since we implemented tiered voting to manage the voting mana, we've been monitoring it closely. The mana has been hovering around 95% which means not enough voting weight is being given out to DUO stakers. Our goal is to keep it right around 80% and not let it sit idle. As a result, we've upped the voting weight on all tiers for those staking less than 1000 DUO. Those have been increased by 5% and we will see if that gets us closer to the most efficient use of the voting mana for duo-curator. Here's a reminder of the tiers.

200 DUO staked - 25% vote
300 DUO staked - 35% vote
400 DUO staked - 45% vote
500 DUO staked - 55% vote
600 DUO staked - 65% vote
700 DUO staked - 75% vote
800 DUO staked - 85% vote
900 DUO staked - 95% vote
1000+ DUO staked - 100% vote

As set out before in the white paper, the three founders (@bitcoinman, @bulliontools and @thebighigg) will only receive 50% of the maximum vote based on their respective tier.

Additional Tokens We May Consider for Increased Dividends

We have been actively looking at ideas to increase dividends and the accounts HP that will give out higher votes to our token holders. Tokens we have considered holding are EDS,SIM, and BXT. We are also open to ideas our token holders have to increase revenues that will be sent out to you in dividends starting Aug.1.

To raise funds for these purchases we are considering selling 1000 DUO tokens out of the founders fund. These tokens would have eventually been part of our 15% compensation for DUO management as stated in the white paper.

Founders agreement/Founders special

We as the founders agree to only sell DUO we earned or purchased for 5 cents less than current market price(Thats 0.95 hive per DUO at the current trench).

And as stated above we will initially use these funds to get other tokens that will bring more value to DUO and it's stake holders.
