Bears in Alaska: Leading Expedition Trips in Southeast Alaska
It has been almost a year since I led expedition in Alaska. I was very excited to come back and have not been disappointed. The wildlife has been absolutely off the charts. I've had a few very cool brown bear encounters over these past two weeks.
I've been running weeklong expedition cruises aboard a small cruise ship called the Safari Explorer. It is 140ft long and carries 34 guests and 16 crew. I'm the expedition leader, so I come up with the plan, where we go, what we do, and I cross my fingers that I can show some amazing scenery, wildlife, and adventures to the crew.
I've been working on my bear photography. You can see what I have gotten so far. It turns out that Southeast Alaska is a great place for brown bear encounters.
These were all shot with a Canon 5d mark ii body with a 100-400mm Canon L series lens.
