The trees have started to let go of some leaves, but it is raining sunshine today, despite a few leaves blowing around, the beauty of this moment does not escape me.
I am out of words, always when I come here, yet my mind never stops. I turn in place and am taken yet again by the magnitude of this place, Arlington Cemetery. It overwhelms me, yet draws me close each and every time. If it stays with you, it is an everlasting impression.
The autumnal foliage is sparse at the moment. The sun shines and filters its energy upon the leaves. I can look up to the sky, through the leaves, as they hang on their branches just waiting to share their beauty. I can only say that as the days go on, we will experience much more beauty of another dimension.
The real deal. Walking the Appalachian Trail in the fall delights me right to my very soul. It has a slight touch of summer left to her days. The sun gently touches my face, caressing my cheeks with her warmth. The leaves crunched under my feet, reminding me that our days of fall are numbered and few. I have hiked this particular part, called Brown's Gap several times, maybe even a few times more than that, give or take.
The Appalachian Trail (the A.T.), is a hiking trail in the Eastern United States, extending almost 2,200 miles (3,540 km) between Springer Mountain in Georgia and Mount Katahdin in Maine, and passing through 14 states. source
Never forget the joy in what you’re doing, even the simplest things, making the most of every experience. To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under Heaven.”Eccl 3" Embrace life. Give it a great big hug. No matter what my yesterday was like, my new day starts with two simple, small words offered from the heart: thank you. I will say them over, and then say them again. I can feel the joy of this day — a light shining in a sometimes jaded world.
It is a mix of laying some flowers at the cemetery, enjoying a bit of nature. Hiking and biking was on my schedule, but, I will be back, as a matter of fact, probably tomorrow sometime. I have more to do tomorrow! Before I forget, Happy #Caturday! I almost made it!

The day belongs to my two guys, @c0ff33a, and his #SublimeSunday. Where you can post your random thoughts and dreams between the lines. I thank him in advance for this opportunity to throw caution to the wind and let it flow. Definitely a #SublimeSunday in the making, by the Meister of my morning, @c0ff33a. I do love my @c0ff33a and he likes eclectic! A match made in heaven. And @Ace108? #BeautifulSunday is hosted by @Ace108. You post what your Sunday is like, what you did, and where you went. It just wouldn't be Sunday without it!
Reach out and color me Fall. Utterly divine. Wherever you go, whatever you do, don't forget to see all that Mother Nature offers you. Beauty for nothing and the chicks are free. I heard that somewhere. When they throw in a dude or two, I'll start collecting. I want to thank you for walking through my #SublimeSunday, eclectic and true, brought by me to you. And just that quick, this show is over. Tag me and I will visit you too! Thank you! Don't forget to have a #BeautifulSunday!
I'll fly away when the leaves begin to fall
Fly away when the cold wind blows
Fly away to hide beneath the sun
Fly away, fly away
All I have are my words, armed in my mind, written in pen, stand by stand. Oh, yes. Still by hand. It has a different feel. Altered not by keys, backspace, and delete, I write, erase, tear it to pieces and start all over again. And again.
It’s my way. I walk out to the deep end of the page and dive right in.
The Road Not Taken
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I -
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

The falling leaves, much like Arlington, remind us as the seasons change, our life left is surely getting shorter. I curse the thought actually. It seems like a cruel game to play on a person. Give them much, but slowly take it away till it is gone. Yet, noone is asking me how it should go.
How do you think it should go? I'm interested to see if your way is going to sound better to me. When you say it that way, it does seem a little cruel. We should be building up to the big crescendo and then? Take that all away? But, aren't we supposed to get a big reward in the end?
Wait! Tell me how you think it should go again @old-guy-photos.
Thank you for the repost @pixresteemer! Much appreciated!

What an awesome combination of amazing photos, writing and poetry! I loved the photo cat, cat is always cute and adorable to me. I love them a lot. Graves make me upset and remind me about the certain death can knock my door anytime. You are a pro author of hive! I love you and your writing! Enjoy your weekend dear mam Wigle❤️❤️❤️
Graves don't upset me, although they used to. I feel like some are laid to eternal rest and are at peace now. I only feel serenity when I walk through. Honestly. There is certain death in being human, but I don't dwell on it.
I hope you are enjoyed the weekend! It is a beautiful Sunday! (for me!)
I'm glad that you are spending a beautiful weekend over there 💝
Mine also beautiful one! All Thanks to Almighty for giving me such beautiful and blessed life!
A walk to see the fall colors is lovely.
A walk to see the colors is such a rewarding kind of day. All that beauty in one day walk.
It is only getting better and better!
Happy #beautifulsunday, Ace108!
You’ve decided everything so beautifully. Great blog. 👏
Ahhhh.. Somehow I knew you would throw that Robert Frost poem in there at the end! Love it! but you already knew that 😉
Things are changing here, and in a few short weeks the color will be amazing. I'll grab a few shots out by the lake when the full change is here. Looking forward to it. I ad a dream once of walking the entire Appalachian Trial. That was 30 years ago.. The thrill has passed. lol. I do enjoy walking the bits that pass through PA, NJ and NY.
Say Hi to the pretty kitty for me and Molly!
I'm so predictable! Hi, Brad! Looking good! 😁 I do love the AT and we hike different parts of it at different times. I imagined myself doing the whole thing at one go, but, kids and work and and and change everything, but, in a way that none of us can compete with.
BTW, New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut have some of the most challenging parts of the Trail. Hmmm maybe that is wrong, but, definitely New England. It is the part I will never do again! Yes. The thrill has passed and it no longer holds it over my head, daring me to complete it. Le sigh. I guess I am truly an adult now. :)
Our color isn't much yet, but, the mountains have patches of being done. I look forward to the changes in the lake, but, slow down, you move too fast. I am not looking forward to Autumn passing into winter. It is a little early and the commuters here don't know how to drive in the ice and snow. We haven't had any for three or more years. Except for one inch last year where someone slid and cause a 20-hour pile-up with about a hundred cars.
They really can't drive!
Hellllo, Brad! I'm so lazy, I never get around much, I never have that kind of time, but, I do think of you and little Molly girl!❤️ Happy Sunday! @bdmillergallery
HELLOOOOOOOOOooooooo!!!! lol. No worries on not getting around. I would be a hypocrite if I said otherwise. So much going on in my life right now.. Molly is a mess (as always), we have a dear friend moving in with us that is in great need right now (we won't notice.. 4 bedrooms and 3 are not used.. lol), my company was sold a few weeks ago so now I have a new employer, life stuff! I'll slow it down a little and enjoy the change. Nine weekends left until Christmas!!! lol, I had to. 😁
Well.. hopefully you end up with zero snow this year.. after that pile up who needs it!
Life! @bdmillergallery The truth of the matter. Poor Molly girl! I hear you on the friend, glad they have you, and yes! I have an extra bedroom and guest room, usually filled with friends of my kids for a bit. It's okay, the more the merrier.
The new employer can be great, I know you will make it so.
I am determined to make life normal again. Booked a cruise and I am going on it next month. Done deal. No snow, that is the deal!
NINE WEEKENdS LEFT!!!!!! I have been counting! LOL

Oh how I would've loved to hike the Appalachian trail....
I think you would have had fun!! I hike it in sections, sometimes not even a whole section. Otherwise, it takes about 5-7 months on a thru-hike. One of my kids wants to do the thru-hike before she starts her own life.
I hope she gets the opportunity.
Hello! Happy Monday to you @buckaroobaby 💙
That was exactly the reason I didn't do it! I wanted to do the thru-hike when I lived there. But it didn't work out with work and so much time off! I love hiking. I started when I was very young. South Africa have some amazing hikes. My favourite the Fish River Canyon (in Namibia) and the Otter Trail. The latter I did during the whale calving season. So it was extra special
Beautiful photograph
Thank you!
It looks like such an amazing day out in every way. The cemetery and the trail. The leaves… the changes in the air… you can touch it… almost 🥰
The colours are scarce but they are there…
Wonderful captures Denise, they so speak for themselves… beautiful in every way.
Thanks for sharing 👋🏻😊 Bigg hugg.
Have a great evening and good start of the new week.
Hello, Hello! ❤️ I didn't even get to play on my own post or finish #MarketFriday yet. So many glitches on the first two days... now running behind again.
Le sigh.
Not going to sweat it and just buckle down tomorrow morning. I am too exhausted tonight. I need to check your out and keep current on your story!
I hope you are going to have a fabulous week! What did they say about the upcoming plans? Did they update anything?
Hello hello Denise 👋🏻😊 I so understand. Still glitches.
When I thought I was through my notifications, suddenly new ones from days or many hours before popped up. Hahaha and finding them all the way back in the notifications can be a shore. So the notifications are still not right. I had a few times PeakD and Ecency didn’t do anything and errors. But behind the scenes they are working hard to solve all. 🤓
Hope you will catch up soon, it does look like it is stabilising more. 🤞🏻🍀
Indeed tomorrow is another day. Get some rest my dear friend.
Thank you so much 😊 I wish the same for you. Have a wonderful new week!
They are making a different plan now, as after the take over things did change a bit internally and the project hubby is working on got ditched so he and his team does need to get placed into different roles (all 52 of them). We hear the new plan this week 🤞🏻🤞🏻🍀🍀 let’s see if it speeds things up. As we are waiting for over 1 year now… but we are patient 😁😎 it is worth waiting for.
I let you know when I know more…
Bigg hugg

Oh I have heard of The Appalachian Trail thought little me! How cool is that, I know where Denise is walking...
Then I saw that 🤣 , you forget just how vast that country is. Mind you I can see why you do love walking a part of that Appalachian Trail in Autumn or Fall😃
Hehe! Yes! That is so funny! I hike it in sections. I did Connecticut and the Northeastern part first (and I lived there!) and honestly, that is the hardest terrain in the whole trail. Virginia isn't bad, but, all of them are challenging or can be in places.
Keep a map and track where you have been and where you are going. It is fun to see how much you can cover. So many miles, I may never finish, but, I surely will die trying. :)
Hi, Ed! @tengolotodo I hope all is great with you and wish you a wonderful week ahead!
Hiya Denise!
Yes I am alive so it will be a wonderful week and I wish you the same :)
I tend to do the hardest things first so I would have started in Connecticut by default too!
Beautiful trail, it reaches very high at the mountain tough, the autumn foliage makes it even more enjoyable and beautiful
