Let's Dance

(Edited)

Dance to the rhythm of the day, swaying in the breeze. Do you always make time in your life? Time is such a precious commodity. I have so little of it that I make sure to take the time to have those meaningful, full-of-life conversations with those that I love. We get so busy in our lives and sometimes lose touch with those we shared a moment with. Everybody needs those kinds of relationships that link us to one another. Sometimes I forget how to take care of my own little garden. Inhale the beauty of your moments.

Today is a #BeautifulSunday by @Ace108, where we share the story of our day in the most possibly beautiful way that we can. I am having the best of days, a definite #SublimeSunday in the making, by the Meister of my morning, @c0ff33a, where everything eclectic finds a home. I do love my @c0ff33 and he likes eclectic! A definite match made in heaven. I want to thank @ace108 and @c0ff33a for hosting these fun challenges! Check them out!

Sad, but true. I missed #Caturday by merely hours, but, it is still Saturday somewhere in the United States. Happy #Caturday to all my cat-loving friends!

I love people but realize that not every person has to be one of your closest friends, they can be just a friend and I am happy with that. Best friends take a while, to learn about each other, and fit into each other's lives. In this fast-paced, no time for anything world, it is nice to remind each other once in a while – through thoughts and deeds, however small -that we care.

It is a beautiful day, but honestly it is so very eclectic. A little kitty, a little bit of St. Lucia, even a praying mantis. Why? Why not? It's Sunday and I have built in a little eclectic for you. The beauty of the praying mantis, is so very pious looking, but, watch yourself! They are aggressive little cannibals! Read more here.

It was all about the conflicting directions today, adding nothing to the game, but, still was reaching for it, fishing for it, to save the day – and I caught a soft, yet engaging scent, rich and almost honeyed with a touch of vanilla, that just added to the harmony of that moment.

What is a lightship? Do you know? A light vessel, or lightship, is a ship that could be called a lighthouse. They are used in waters that are too deep or would not be a good place to put a lighthouse. The one below is outside the Baltimore Aquarium, in Baltimore, Mayland. I didn't the signs for it but was very excited because I knew what it was.

Lightships in America span just 165 years: 1820 - 1985. They marked dangerous moving sandbars, shoals, low water, harbor entrance, river's mouth, or a spot where a lighthouse could not be built. They could be moved around as a channel moved due to shifting sands. A total of 120 stations were established on America's coastlines and the Great Lakes. The number was always changing- some of these were for a short time while others were permanent. During 1909, a total 56 lightships were in use, the highest number ever placed in service. As times changed with technology, so did the number of lightship stations until 1985 and the last lightship was replaced. From 1820 to 1952 (when the last lightship was built), 179 vessels were constructed with wooden hulls and sail-powered ships, to iron hulls with diesel engines. You can find more on them here

LIfe doesn't have to be complicated, letting Nature drive seems more than reasonable. I sometimes forget that it takes a lot of hard work upfront, followed by a bit of trust and the belief that despite the harsh elements, things will eventually work out. As soon as you think that it's all for naught, a flower emerges. Yes, please. And of course, a flower. Always a flower... to color my world with joy. #alwaysaflower

It was a most enjoyable day, sublimely so! I walked my miles, went to an evening mass in a beautiful old Church in town, and made a new recipe for dinner, a chapter for another story. I end my night with the penning of thoughts. Sometimes I even repeat myself, I believe the words so strongly. I know I have said this before, but, when it is full and unavoidably true, it requires to be said again and again. Love makes everything so much better. I love you and you and you. Stop for a moment today and spread your brand of love all over. Then do it again.

IMG_6946a.JPG

All I have are my words, armed in my mind, written in pen, stand by stand. Oh, yes. Still by hand. It has a different feel. Altered not by keys, backspace, and delete, I write, erase, tear it to pieces and start all over again. And again.

It’s my way. I walk out to the deep end of the page and dive right in.

The Road Not Taken

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I -
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

Nice eclectic post to read on Sunday. I really like the praying mantis shot. It's so bright and colorful. They are such neat and interesting creatures. Like little aliens.

Ha! That is what I always think. Little aliens. My kid used to hatch an ootheca every spring and have a tankful of those little carnivores! We would take a video of it hatching for scientific purposes. Plus, it was kind of cool! They would catch on at the end of the season again so they would have an sac for the following spring.

Nature is, indeed awesome!

Observing the is well used time. Hi, @leaky20 !

Good morning Denise!

Your title got me in a David Bowie groove.

I'll put on my red shoes later, but I ain't going dancing.🤣

I love people but realize that not every person has to be one of your closest friends, they can be just a friend and I am happy with that. Best friends take a while, to learn about each other, fitting into each others lives.

Great photos and story. Your post made me smile 😊

Enjoy your day:)))

Hi, Milly! @millycf1976 Thanks and I hope you had a great day as you and the scuba dude head off into the evening. David Bowie indeed! :) I was in a Bowie kick and pushed up the volume so he was playing on all 3 of the floors of my house while cleaning.

I am glad you understood what I meant there, sometimes (and especially at 2 am) my wording is awkward. Almost like drunk posting, except not funny.

Thanks for stopping by and leaving your words. I am glad I could get a smile out of you! Now let's shake it with those red shoes!

Let's Dance!

Dance to the rhythm of the day, swaying in the breeze.

Look Swigs, I would love to dance with you but, *I couldn't be held responsible for the damage I ay inflict on you, anyone in the immediate vicinity or even the building or surrounds. You see, I dance like a drunk spider monkey on crack that got on bum cheek bit by a fire ant and the other stung by a hornet and then stubbed his toe whilst running around in pain. It's something to behold, but one tends to have the urge to claw one's own eyes out if one is misfortunate enough to observe it. It wouldn't be #beautifulsunday were you to observe said dancing.

Have a good weekend and be grateful...you can't see me dancing.

Now I seriously want to see this thing you do, but, better yet, put it on video and attach it to TikTok! or YouTube. That might make enough to retire you completely forever and a day. :)

I actually have a good visual, your explanation was pretty complete and written with easy-to-follow language. No Galenisms for me to sort.

Come on! We can still have a #SublimeSunday, can't we?

I am grateful! I will even throw you a tip!

People have been known to die of laughter whilst watching me dance, if you're willing to make the ultimate sacrifice then I guess it's ok to watch.

In truth I haven't danced for a long time...it's just too lethal and dangerous for those around me. Ukraine wanted me to come up there and dance in front of the advancing Russian troops...The war would be over if I had done so, but I had something else on that weekend so couldn't make it.

For real!! I am not ready to make the ultimate sacrifice and I know, I will probably be sorry, but I am just not ready for that yet.

Although, frankly, now I want to watch. Is that weird?

The Russians are lucky that you didn't release your secret weapon on them, aren't they? I am sure you can put that to good use somewhere, yes?

They are indeed, it wouldn't have gone well for them. And yes, my skills have been out to good use and had devastating effect, ther is no doubt.

We so often notice those who care so much and give meaning to every moment we care about.

Connecting each other even in prayer and memory shows we care for each other. But it's all we have to say and we know so they know that we care.

Everything can change. However, we don't want our care for the people we love to change.
I totally agree with you, what is very valuable is the meaningful time and every moment of our togetherness with them.

Have a nice day, Mrs @dswigle

Yes! That is exactly it. Time is so very special and spending meaningful time really hit home during the pandemic when we were not allowed to, especially if you had someone who was in the hospital or a care facility.

I never take anything for granted anymore. Ever. In the blink of an eye, it can all be taken from you.

Connecting in prayer and thought makes for beautiful thoughts.

I hope you are having a peaceful day. Thank you for stopping by and leaving your words.

"We get so busy in our lives and sometimes lose touch with those we shared a moment with."
you're so right Denise.
Pink Floyd said so good about this in 1970 -
"If I were a good man, I'd talk to you more often than I do."

So very true! I am guilty of it myself and am always trying to keep the balance. Pink Floyd nailed it to the cross, in my opinion.

Thanks so much for sharing the link. It's a fine piece!

Always so many good shots! Very cool. I like eclectic. I wanted to say thanks for linking to that article. #7 is an important fact that many people dont realize. Praying mantis are good for the garden, but be careful allowing them near a hummingbird feeder!
And yes, love makes the world go around!

I love them in my garden! That is where this one was found in the picture! :) They are like guard dogs for the garden and don't blink! They are that quick!

Ah, yes. So true. When people ask what's love got to do with it? I know they aren't paying attention to life.

Thanks for stopping by and leaving your words!

Have a super Sunday!

Hello Denise. This was just lovely to read! Great shot of the Hydrangea too. I absolutely agree with you, we need to make more time for connection or it gets lost and if it's important to you and you value it, then it shouldn't be neglected.

I did not know about lightships, although now I have learned a bit about them and want to know more. I've felt for a long time that some of the most splendid inventions have already been made: in that era. If there was a need, something got built to solve the problem.

Beautiful writing. Have a great day full of flowers 🌼

Thank you! Sorry, this one slipped by. I saw it really late into the night and couldn't remember where I saw it!

That is so true about yesteryear. They have the most interesting inventions that actually make sense. And the older generation is so wonderful, always showing me how to do things the easy way or more efficient way. Cooking with love and cleaning things the good old-fashioned way.

Progress isn't always progressing. :)

Thanks for stopping by! You are so kind!
