Naija Brand Chick Trade Fair 2024 | Ibadan Experience
I've always loved exploring places, especially for the beauty of capturing great content. Even though I'm not well travelled, I've been around most sight and sounds in South West Nigeria either as a filmmaker or a musician, most especially in Ibadan. However, I don't think I've ever been to a trade fair.
So I was dragged by @fickyvic to the famous Naija Brand Chick Trade Fair scheduled to hold in Ibadan last Sunday. The emphasis on going was so much that I had to give in. I wasn't sure what I was going to do at a trade fair, but I just tagged along.
So the idea behind the trade was to bring to light the finest of Ibadan's traders all in one place selling their products at the best of prices.
I figured perhaps I would find some stuff to buy for myself too.
The trade fair already started at 2pm when we got there and the sun was very hot - good weather for the day one would say.
The event held at the popular Jogor Centre in Ibadan and it was packed full of vendors and participants, with people flocking the place to find one thing or the other to buy.
The welcoming entrance
There were booths both inside and outside the venue hall and the whole place was booming with activity and music. The organization and turnout was fantastic.
There were booths outside, especially the food booths
The entrance into the hall where there were many other booths
At the door of the entrance, you could already sense that the place was brimming with people
There were a lot of products put up for sale at great discounts. @fickyvic who claimed she would spend ONLY 5k, found some hair stuff, and nice clothes to buy and overshot her budget by over 100%🙄.
@fickyvic after embezzling all the funds
But I didn't find much to buy. The fair seemed as if it was geared for women amd children. There were a few things like underwear for men, perfumes, but not so much particularly for men.
There were A LOT OF FOOD vendors though, and I loved that! Maybe that can suffice as men stuff👀.
Food and small chops here and there
Well I wasn't disappointed anyway, cos I wasn't exactly coming to buy anything. Na woman I follow come. I met one or two of my friends who came with their wives and they said the same thing😅.
Na woman I follow come. Na me be content creator/videographer/bodyguard😂
At the end, I ended up buying some packaged Òfadà rice and pònmó to spice up my concoction rice as a bachelor😅.
Then we bought tiger nut drinks and puff puff to ease off after the event.
Dried ponmo at 100 to 200 naira per piece
The Ofada rice guys were in fact cooking rice. I just couldn't wait for it to be done. We for chop small. The small pack shown here goes for 4500 naira
Phew! What do I think about the event?
I think the initiative is really nice. The convener, Naija Brand Chick, basically goes around the country organising stuff like this just to bring the best of the best together for people who want to buy their favorite stuff.
However, at least for the Ibadan trade fair, I would have loved some more variety. I wouldn't expect so much as regards gadgets cos it's not a Tech trade fair, but at least I would have loved more men's stuff perhaps.
Albeit, Ibadan NBC Trade Fair went well.
Were you at the Ibadan NBC Trade Fair? Were you at any of the other trade fairs in other states?
How was your experience?
Well, the next stop is Enugu on the 2nd and 3rd of November.
Anyone here in Enugu? I think you should go and check it out.
These pictures are so good.
Thanks a lot boss🙌
It was a pleasant experience going with you to the trade fair, 🥂 to more adventures
Cheers to more spending😂
Wow! Lovely pictures and videos. Thank you for helping us have a feel of what the event was like even though we were not present physically.
Ibadan definitely has amazing vendors and Naija Brand Chick a.k.a Nelly is doing a great job with helping many businesses gain visibility across the nation.
