Weekend evenings in our house are a time for family fun with Mortal Kombat. A game full of emotions, dynamic fights and spectacular duels has become our favorite weekend tradition. However, it is worth remembering that Mortal Kombat is a game for older players, because it contains a lot of violence, brutal blows and characteristic "fatalities" that are not suitable for small children. That is why only adults and older children are involved in our tournaments: me, my husband Adrian, our oldest son Oskar and daughter Sara.

Rules of our tournaments

Our family games have a simple formula: the winner stays in the arena, and the loser passes the pad to the next person in line. Thanks to this, everyone has a chance to play, and the fight for the title of "weekend champion" becomes even more exciting. We play from one to two hours - long enough for everyone to show their skills and experience a few surprising twists.

Our Favorite Characters

Each of us has our favorites, who perfectly reflect our fighting styles:

Adrian chooses Sub-Zero – an ice warrior whose attacks and fatalities are as precise as his approach to the game.

Oskar prefers Raiden – a god of lightning, whose dynamic attacks are impressive and often surprise opponents.

Sara plays Kitana – an elegant warrior with fans, whose fighting style is as agile and effective as Sara herself in the game.

I play Skarlet – a strong, unwavering heroine whose bloody magic adds drama to every fight.

Fun, excitement and anecdotes

Our games are a mix of competition and laughter. Recently, Sara had an incredible streak – she won six fights in a row, which frustrated the boys:

• "Mom, she's killing us all! This is a team game, help us!" - Oskar cried, seeing Kitana's next blows.
• "I can't betray my best warrior, son!" – I replied with a smile, watching Sara's triumphant march.

When it was finally my turn to duel Sara, I put everything on one card. Skarlet vs. Kitana – the duel was fierce, and my fatality ended her streak.

– "Master Kitana has finally fallen!" – I announced triumphantly.

– "That's because I had a weaker fan!" – Sara replied with a theatrical shrug.

Adrian, as always, tried to introduce strategy into the game. After one of Sub-Zero's icy fatalities, he threw to Oskar:
– "You see, son, Master Sub-Zero takes no prisoners."

Oskar replied:
– "Dad, it's a shame you don't take them in the kitchen too, because I'm still waiting for the promised pizza!"

We only play on weekends and only in winter

Mortal Kombat games take place at our house only on weekend evenings. It's our way of spending time together when the days are short and cold. In spring and summer we put the pad aside, because then we focus on outdoor activities, spending time on the plot or on family trips.

Why Mortal Kombat?

Mortal Kombat is a game full of intense emotions and spectacular fights, but we treat it with distance, as an opportunity to have fun together. Although it contains a lot of aggression and violence, with the right approach and awareness of its content it can be a great form of family rivalry in an older group. The most important thing is to adapt the games to the age of the players and take care of the right atmosphere. For us, these evenings are a great way to build bonds and create shared memories.
