I Made A Crochet Bra Top
#needlework
Hello my fellow needleworkers, I hope you all are doing well and I’m sure you definitely had a good day because I did.
So today I’ll be sharing this bra top I made for a client and there is a whole lot I’ll love to talk about as I share pictures from the process of making this to when I finished.
This was an on-site order so it was kind of different. She came to the shop and she admired the maroon Bratop that is always on the mannequin and asked if she could get the exact same but one thing would be different though because she didn’t want to feel uncomfortable after putting it on.
The change she wanted to make was minor so I told her it was possible to get that done. She went on to ask for the price and I told her. She was okay with it and we went straight to processing her order.
I had to go get maroon yarn because I rarely get an order for any maroon colored piece so this was the first in a long while. I grabbed two balls of yarn. Went back to the store and started working on it.
The last time I worked on a bra cup was either November or October. I can't really pin the date but then it’s almost impossible for me to forget how to make it.
I started making the bra cup and I had to use a single crochet since I was making a duplicate of the other and I honestly didn’t want any part to be a flop.
Making the bra cups were easy and I went on to make the body which didn’t take time actually. The real issue was the straps.
The modification she made was she didn’t want the straps to come to the neck region. I should make it permanently like a bra then the other back part can be straps.
Trying to know her body measurement so I can know how to make the trap was the issue but lucky for me she came over to check how far I’ve gone and I took the opportunity to take her measurements(my apprentice was to do this the day she made payment but she forgot to take this particular measurement so that was the issue.
I did and all through she was saying how it came out the way she wanted and that she likes it and she’ll be traveling soon so she’ll want to have it by then if it’ll be possible.
At this point I was almost done so I told her yeah sure you’ll come pick up the next day. This was a really nice moment for me .
She already started showing her admiration even before the cloth was completed so I was trying to not show the grin on my face too much.
These are the tools I used while making this.
- measurement tape.
- Two balls of yarn.
- Tapestry needle.
- Stitch marker.
- 4.0mm hook.
Ps: the pictures used here belong to me and were taken with my mobile phone.
