Why smart homes are more bro-er than bro----1/30
I was in an all-out brawl with writer's block this morning and that's when I remembered my visit to a newly commissioned building I was privileged to inspect last week. It was fully automated and I was in awe as that was my first experience with that much technology imbued into a home.
So why not write about that, I thought to myself and came up with this :)
Technology is becoming ever-expansive and has stretched across various walks of life and BAM! smart homes or as I like to call em, technologically imbued homes are now a prevalent thing. I mean, they probably always have been but I have not had so much experience with them I still see them as a new phenomenon. (that's what you get for living in a third-world part of a third-world country haha)

Smart homes are now becoming very rampant and the major reason ill attribute to this is simply convenience as is the major aim of technology. The desire to simplify and manage various aspects of the home and tasks using integrated systems and not having to exert manual effort sure sounds very interesting.
I actually wouldn't mind being able to adjust the thermostat in the parlor right in my room by doing the thing I probably do most in the world, being on my phone (one would think I'm paid to use my phone every day). No!, it's not witchcraft as my grandmother would fondly call it, it's science.

and alas! you can stop getting KO-ed by water bills whenever you always forget to turn off the shower before going to work. Just picture your smart home assistance flying in to save the day by detecting excessive use of water and playfully cutting in "looks like someone loves their water bills" before turning off the shower.
Moving on to one of the biggest problems of all, right next to world war 3 on the list.
Having to know what show to watch next on Netflix
powered by tenor
Alright alright, I may have exaggerated the problem just a little bit.
It must really feel good to have a smart living room where your theater system is more aware of your viewing habits than you are yourself. This way, you can always have an endless suggestion of movies and tv shows that suit your patterns without having to scroll through 5000 categories on Netflix, browse 2 hours online, watch 900 trailers on youtube, and buy 2 plots of digital land in rotten tomatoes. Life's good!
Lastly, the one true goliath in every home. "CHORES"
powered by tenor
Ever wonder why "chores" rhyme with "I'll squeeze you dry until you take your final breath and then I'll be there" ??
I come from an African home and over here, you are condemned to chores for the first 20 years or so of your life till you have kids that do em for you haha.
yeah, we are chore machines
Now I can only imagine what it must feel to sit down on the couch all while the almighty robotic maid troops in, announces "hello hooman, I'll begin doing your chores for which you've absolutely not paid me for and i won't collect any form of salary as long as you feed me electricity and replace my batteries".
That must feel really good!!!.
For those with any form of this luxurious experience, feel free to bully me with how well your life has been going since you came into contact with smart home features, and how helpful it's been in the comment section.
