More Rabbit Portraits: Ermentrude Bunnyfoot

rabbit3Small1.jpg
Ermentrude Bunnyfoot was of a quiet constitution and enjoyed nothing more than spending the afternoon in the garden.

Tho, much to the chagrin of her dear old curmudgeonly Uncle Josiah Bunnywort who often cajoled her for picking his specimen plants to make dainty little arrangements.

"A lot of Stuff and nonsense," he'd huff, "this ramming cut blossoms into cups of water, it leaves rings on me important papers."

Ermentrude said nothing, but still put a nosegay or a posy daily in her dear old uncles study.

The outline sketch of Ermentrude.

I'm having fun with these portraits. Having been busy the perfect escape, during a tea break, is into another realm and one where rabbits (and possibly in the future more animal friends) are anthropomorphized is all the better get away.

A few of the layers in GIF format.

I'm not sure if it's Spring or the weather in general, but I've definitely been embracing the twee and cute in my drawings and I'm loving the journey.

I'm also thinking I should have started my bunny portraits earlier, because how sweet would this gal on a bag, such as this, be filled with goodies for Easter.

Ah well, there is next year and I'm sure some would happily carry a "bunny bag" year round.

Well, I hope you enjoyed my third Bunny portrait , I'm having such fun making them.

I hope you find a moment in your day to indulge in your own passions and remember to stay creative, thanks for stopping by and perusing my portraits.

Wow @donnadavisart amazing talent you have, I am envious as I was not blessed with any artistic talent. If I had two wishes, one would be to have the ability to draw and the other to sing. Hobum never gonna happen

Well, I can draw, at least I think so, but you'd not want to hear me sing haha. We must all have those things we covet, I'd love to be able to play music by ear. @grindle

What a beautiful Mrs. and Mr. rabbits I love, they look like characters taken from a children's story

I'm sort of imagining their stories as I draw them, tho they aren't in a traditional tale, maybe one day. I'm having fun drawing them that's for sure.

Exactly, I started with a rabbit for Easter and now I've ended up with a series of wonderful and fun portraits, I'm going to continue down this road a bit I think :)

There's something so Victorianly (is that a word?) compelling about the name Ermentrude. Have you thought about turning these into longer stories? :)

Well, I've been wondering, it's fun to have the storyline for the character as I'm making them, so who knows, if their stories seem to connect in some way that makes sense, it could be a fun Project for sure :) And they are very Victorian, one of my favorite times to escape to actually.
