Another sketch and painting in my Alternate Universe entitled "Spare Parts"

Woodrow 500 might have been a wooden bot, but he was as full of love for his mistress as any tin version.

Woodrow was so proud that his mistress had given him, as a gift on his "boot-up day" a real Tin replacement hand, that he often trundled it about in his little wooden cart.

"One day I'll be a Real Tin bot," he thought, wondering if following his mistress into the pond today, for frog catching, might makes his legs swell again...One day...

The sketch sans color.

I've been having such fun with these little bots. Sketching in pencil in my journal then having fun with digital charcoal on coarse digital paper seems to be my favourite means to create them.

Simple watercolor to give the affect of wood, or does it look more like rusting tin?

I believe I'll give these lone bots their little girl mistresses, but hadn't decided how she'd share the page with Woodrow.

I do love a GIF tho

I'm really enjoying fleshing out this alternate world in which these people dwell, so far Victorian girls with their robot chums and 1930's ladies of fashion. I wonder who else might pop up as the year goes forward.

Do you think these would be fun as coloring pages, both printable and digital?

I've started to lay these sketches out to be put onto things from prints to homegoods and tees. So far, I've done this pair.

I think their cute on bags and Tees too.
