Personal Victory!

(Edited)

I have a few friends that have come to me in desperation about their finances.

I am not a financial planner or advisor by any means. I do though like to help them.

Some want to listen and other just want to complain. The ones that really want to change I help them put together a plan. Mostly the plan evolves around eliminating credit card debt.

Today I got a visit in my office from one individual who was pumped out of him mind because after 18 months of extreme frugal living he is now free of his credit card debt. He said it was extremely freeing. Him and his wife now have a vacation planned that they are going to pay for with money that they already have.

Not going to lie I was super excited for him and happy I could help.

I love credit cards. I enjoy the rewards I get from using them. I do have to be careful when they start creeping up and I spend too much. I never carry a balance and actually pay them off each Friday. When they get to be too much of a burden my wife and i usually switch to cash for a month or so and it helps us reset.

I would recommend getting out of credit card debt if you have any.

I am not a huge Dave Ramsey fan…but i agree with him on credit card debt.

Cool story, was that a guy you helped make a plan? Either way it's so fun to see someone beat the credit monster!

Good for your buddy! Credit cards are great for the rewards, but pay off every penny every month or it becomes a huge gorilla on your back! Great advice and it's great you helped out!
