Always get a second quote.

the last two weeks have been super crazy. I’ve been working on a side job and also been busy with kids soccer and my real job as well. So when I had a couple projects that came up of things that broke around the house, I decided to see about having someone else fix them. I’m not great with tools and I’m not great at getting things fixed, especially if I don’t have a ton of time to do it. I told my wife that we would just pay to have it fixed.

so she made some calls and we got a few quotes back on the two different projects and they just seemed outrageous. I was not ready to spend that much money for the simple stuff. But I still didn’t have time to do it all.

so we decided to get a few other quotes.

The savings were awesome when they started bidding on each other.

Saving on the first project was over 50% and savings on the second project was about 27%.

Usually when I get a quote I haven’t liked in the past I just say not and end up going and doing it myself.

It was an eye opening experience to go about it this way.

That being said I should still do more by myself but I’m glad I was able to save this much money.

Stop wasting money and get a second quote on everything. It’s worth it.
