Souvenirs from Anime Event

Kids started their summer break at the end of June. Summer school, the annual fireworks in early August, and now the air started to cool down…I can feel the end of summer is near.
Over the past few years, our family has refrained from traveling, not only due to the impact of COVID but also because my husband is battling cancer. There are financial reasons as well, but being away from the hospital scares me. The children have been going out on their own or with their friends’ families, but my life has been mostly consumed with work, home and staying by my husband's side.

Even so, this summer brought some changes. My youngest daughter and I started part-time jobs, which added a bit of variation compared to the usual year. My husband also managed to slightly increase his workload.

Speaking of summer, there’s an event that is a staple in our household.
It is called Anirevo.
It’s quite a big anime event where even voice actors from Japan are invited every year. Though the kids are the only ones participating, and we simply watch over them, just observing them during this three day event is enjoyable in itself.

The kids don't watch as much anime as I do, but both my eldest and youngest daughters love cosplay. They come up with creative ideas each year, along with my eldest daughter’s boyfriend. Last year, the artists from the tattoo studio where my eldest daughter works joined them, making it a huge event. This year, her tattoo clients and groomers from the dog salon (her side job) came to support her as well. (All of them are Japanese.)

Just like last year, my youngest daughter was very popular and was asked for photos and invited to participate in a meetup for Delicious in Dungeon.

The kids also brought me souvenirs. I’m so happy. 💕

My eldest daughter got me a tote bag, designed by her favorite artist, who also participated last year.

My youngest daughter got me a keychain of Kageyama from Haikyuu. Even the back side is cute. This is made by my youngest daughter’s favorite artist.

This year, I received a souvenir from my eldest daughter’s boyfriend, which made me really happy.
He’s usually a quiet kid, but he lights up when we talk about games and anime. Very sweet.
He bought a mystery bag from his favorite artist, which included 10 posters, two large gamer mouse pads (the one with Rengoku on it is super cool!), game items made of resin, and other fancy things. He showed them to me one by one, and they were all amazing. One of the posters, which featured a character with silver hair and red eyes, caught my eye so much that he gave it to me. It cannot go wrong with silver hair and beautiful red eyes! Right? Hehe.
I later found out he is from an otome game.

They each showed me the things they bought and the photos. It was fun hearing their stories.

The kids are already brainstorming ideas for next year's cosplay. From the preparations leading up to the event to the lingering excitement afterward, it was a really fun event that involved the whole family.
I’m already looking forward to next year.

子ども達は６月末に夏休みが始まり、サマースクール、８月恒例の花火、最近少しちょっと涼しい風が吹いてきて、今年の夏も過ぎていきます。
ここ数年の我が家は、コロナの影響もありましたが、主人が癌の闘病中といういうこともあって家族旅行は控えています。経済的な理由もありますが、病院から離れるのが怖いです。子供達はそれぞれ、お友達やお友達の家族にお世話になって出掛けていますが、私の生活はこのところ、家と仕事と主人のことでいっぱいいっぱいです。
それでも今年の夏は、私と次女ちゃんがバイトを始めたので、いつもの年より少し変化がありました。主人も少しだけ仕事の量を増やせました。

そんな我が家なのですが、夏と言えば！な、イベントがあります。
anirevo というイベントです。
毎年、日本からも声優さんが招かれる結構大きなアニメのイベントです。
これも子供たちが参加するだけで、私たちは見守るだけなのですが、3日間、子供達を見ているだけで楽しいです。

子供達は私ほどアニメを観ないのですが、長女ちゃんも次女ちゃんもコスプレが大好きで、毎年思考を凝らして参加します。長女ちゃんの彼氏くんも。
昨年は長女ちゃんの勤めるタトゥースタジオのアーティストさん達を巻き込んで大盛りでした。今年はタトゥーのクライアントさんと、ドッグサロン (長女ちゃんのサブジョブ) のグルーマーさん達 (皆さん日本人) が応援に来てくれたそうです。

日本のお父さんが見たら目が点になってしまいそうな衣装ですね。慣れというのは怖いです、笑
次女ちゃんは昨年に続き大人気で、写真を求められたり、ダンジョン飯のミートアップに参加させてもらったりしたそうです。

子ども達からお土産もらっちゃいました。嬉しいですね。

長女ちゃんからはトートバッグ。これは昨年も参加していた、長女ちゃんの好きなアーティストさんの作品だそうです。

次女ちゃんからは、ハイキューの影山くんのキーホルダー。後ろ姿まで可愛いです。 これは次女ちゃんの好きなアーティストさんの作品だそうです。

今年は長女ちゃんの彼氏くんからもお土産をもらってしまいました。嬉しいです。普段は静な子なのですが、ゲームやアニメのことになると食い付いてきます、笑
好きなアーティストさんの福袋を買ったそうで、ポスター１０枚、大きなゲーマー用のマウスパッド2つ (煉獄さんのがめちゃめちゃカッコいい！) レジンで作られたゲームアイテムなどなど、１つずつ見せてもらったのですが、すごい豪華でした。
このポスターのキャラクターは1枚ずつ見せてもらっている時に、私がキャーキャー言ったのでくれたのでした。白銀髪に赤い瞳なんてツヨツヨでしょ！笑
後で知りましたが、乙女ゲームのキャラクターだそうです。

３人それぞれ、買ったものと写真を順番に見せてくれました。これもまた楽しい時間です。
そして、子ども達は既に来年のコスプレのアイディアを出し合っています。イベントまでの準備、イベント後の余韻、家族も巻き込んで本当に楽しいイベントでした。私も来年が楽しみです。
