Iniciado el torneo, corría las primeras 4 fechas y el Milan ya llevaba 2 derrotas, ambas ante Chelsea. Por un momento pense que el equipo no seria capaz de clasificar, puesto que aun se debía visitar en Zagreb, Croacia, al Dinamo, y recibir al Salzburg que de local le había sacado 1 punto al equipo de Pioli. El Milan goleo 4 a 0 al Dinamo y las esperanzas se reanimaron. Luego, de local, se finiquitó el pase a los octavos con una contundente actuación ante el Salzburgo en la última fecha. Milan eliminaba así los dos rivales antes mencionados, superándolos con la chapa de 7 veces campeones de Europa.

En octavos, una serie de hechos anímicos/futbolísticos me hicieron creer que sería imposible vencer a los Spurs de Conte, teniendo en cuenta el paupérrimo mes de Enero que engrano el equipo de Pioli, cayendo goleado en casa ante Sassuolo, de visita ante la Lazio, y para peor, por la final de la Supercopa Italiana ante el acérrimo rival Inter, en Arabia Saudi. El momento del equipo no era el mejor y confieso que me llegue a cuestionar en algún momento si los jugadores le estaban haciendo la cama a Pioli. Hoy, en Abril, desecho por completo esa opción. El Milan venció de local a los londinenses, y defendiendo como es debido el resultado de visita sacando el arco en 0. Otra vez, con el peso de la historia encima, el diabolo eliminaba a su rival.

Efectuado el sorteo para 4tos, he de decir que si bien me genero cierta incomodidad la idea de cerrar de visita ante Napoli, me sentía un poco mas confiado (pero no del todo). El equipo ya venia en una dinámica positiva, jugadores importantes recuperando el nivel (Leao,Tonali), Maignan volviendo al arco. Factores que sumaban de cierta forma a mi fe de avance rossonero en la Champions. Ante Napoli, habría una serie de 3 partidos (2 de Champions, 1 por liga) en menos de 25 días. Lo que me hacía creer que sería un momento muy clave para el envión anímico del equipo. Y la mejor noticia fue que en el duelo por la liga, el Milan goleo a placer al equipo de Spalletti endosando un 4 a 0 sublime que sin dudas dejo tocado a los napolitanos. Y a pesar de tener un andar muy inestable en liga el equipo de Pioli dio muestras de hacer gran enfoque en Champions, confirmando esa teoría cuando el Napoli, la semana pasada, visitaba San Siro y perdía por la mínima. Hoy, en un duelo de alto calibre, el equipo saco adelante el resultado y supo aguantar la embestida de los sureños, haciendo uso del peso de la historia ya mencionado, y clasificando a semis de Champions...

GOLPEAR CUANDO HAY QUE GOLPEAR - TO STRIKE WHEN IT IS NECESSARY TO STRIKE

La tercera seria la vencida; en una gloriosa jugada de Leao -recordando al mejor Leao del cierre de la pasada Serie A- el portugués se iba de 3 y dejaba solo a Giroud para que este rematara a placer y colocara el 1 a 0 al cierre del primer tiempo.

Ya para el segundo tiempo, Milan se dedicó a defender el resultado, a mi parecer fue jugar con fuego, pero el Milan se supo quemar ya que aguantó estoicamente los ataques del Napoli. Cerca del final una mano de Tomori en el área decretaba un penal para el Napoli que de haberlo anotado el Georgiano la cosa se hubiera puesto color feo. Sin embargo, Mike Maignan se hacía gigante y al igual que Meret, en el mismo arco, un tiempo después, le negaba el gol a Kvaratskhelia y eso termino por hundir anímicamente al Diego Armando Maradona y con ello al Napoli. Que confusiones genera el Milan... esa incertidumbre de sentir que puede caer goleado ante Empoli pero que puede vencer a uno de los equipos de mejor forma en Europa es linda a la vez de contradictoria.

Desde el peor momento del Milan, uno de mis puntos a mencionar en cada escrito realizado era la importancia de que Leao recuperase su nivel, a mí el portugués me parece un chico capacitado para marcar diferencias (en sus primeros años básicamente lo aborrecía a Leao) pero tras lo visto la pasada campaña he tenido que cerrar la boca y aplaudir lo que hace el ex Lille. En el Diego Armando Maradona su jugada sin duda quedara enmarcada en la historia rossonera.

Tonali ayer jugo un mal partido, fue amonestado y estaba apercibido. Se perderá el duelo de ida -espero que contra Inter-, y es una baja muy sensible. Si Tonali está bien, gran parte del mediocampo también lo está.

Rade Krunic, ese héroe silencioso. El bosnio ha logrado meterse a la afición rossonera en el bolsillo con actuaciones destacadas como las de ayer. Relevos, opción de pase, siempre está disponible para todo el Ex Empoli. Un comodín que sin duda merece más reconocimiento.
