Over the years, I’ve taken the high-speed rail so many times. At first, it was all so new and exciting—I’d even take pictures to remember the experience. But as time went on, it became just part of my routine. If I was tired, I’d usually fall asleep as soon as I got on the train. This time, though, was different—it was my first time riding a themed train! The high-speed rail company collaborated with Kanahei's Small Animals to create this special train. I heard there are six runs like this each day, so if you’re lucky, you might get to ride one. Kanahei's Small Animals characters are pretty popular; I’ve seen them in a lot of brand collaborations before. I think I even tried a tea drink with their cute characters on the packaging once, but I can’t remember which brand it was.

The large-scale artwork on the outside of the train really grabs attention. It wasn’t just me—some other passengers were also taking pictures. Inside the train, there were some nice little touches, but the interior didn’t have as much decoration as the outside. I’ve seen some themed trains before where both the inside and outside are fully decorated, which is a big plus for fans. So, when I realized the interior wasn’t as decorated, I felt a bit let down—but not too much since I’m not really a Kanahei fan. I was mostly just curious and found it interesting.

Once the train started moving, the attendants began their service. The passenger next to me, who was from Indonesia, started chatting with me. He was on his way to Tainan to visit relatives and kept asking how many more stops until Tainan. I could understand his worry about being in an unfamiliar place. When the attendant came by, he ordered a coffee, which cost 60 NTD. Oh, and I noticed they were selling some collaboration merchandise too, like themed bottled water. I was curious about how much it cost. Looking more closely at the design, it seemed like there were sunflower motifs. I’m not sure if there’s a special meaning behind it.

The novelty of the Kanahei design wore off pretty quickly, but overall, it was still a fun and interesting travel experience for me.
