可能很多人沒聽過菜頭粿,菜頭粿就是蘿蔔糕,是種中式傳統糕點,有些中式早餐店會賣蘿蔔糕,我對於蘿蔔糕並沒有特別偏愛,但是可以接受,有時候,我媽也會煮蘿蔔糕作為我的早餐,這家有名的早餐店,聽好友說,是從小吃到大的,而且不只做早餐而已,它是從早上營業到下午,尖峰時間可是排隊人潮滿滿的,所以,經過這家店時,才想嚐試看看,看看排隊的隊伍只有兩個人,還在可以接受的範圍,就排隊等待入座。

在排隊的期間,正好從店家的看板上,看看要吃些甚麼小吃,前面的那位是點菜頭粿、米腸和蛋的組合餐,這樣是六十元台幣,菜頭粿我抓二十五元,米腸可能也是二十五元,蛋之前漲價漲好兇,聽說有些便利商店的茶葉蛋都賣到十三元了,組合餐的價錢好像價錢還可以,不算很貴,輪到我點餐時,我想多吃一些特色小吃,所以,明知道我吃不太下,但是還是給點菜頭粿、芋粿、米腸、甜不辣及蛋的豪華組合餐,把幾種早餐品項,全點齊了,再來好好品嚐一下。

拿著手中的早餐拼盤,走到店家專門用餐區用餐,看來,又是一家排隊名店的專門規格,用餐區和點餐區有點距離,而且還有好幾家不同店家的專門用餐區,沒想到,這邊看起來不怎麼樣,但應該是一級美食戰區,淋上醬油跟甜辣醬後,就開吃了,說實話,雖然店家的招牌菜就是菜頭粿,不過,我不太喜歡這家店的菜頭粿,就是蘿蔔糕,應該沒有很難吃,就只是不合我的口味,我覺得口感有點太軟爛了,而炸的有點酥酥的米腸還不錯,但是我最喜歡吃的是它的芋粿,芋粿是種用芋頭做的糕點,炸過之後,還滿好吃的

稍稍品嚐過這幾種特色小吃之後,接下來就是要消滅這一大盤的早餐拼盤,其實這家店的生意真的很好,因為過來專門用餐區的人是絡繹不絕,有年輕的學生、熱戀的情侶及拘謹的老夫妻,而且,我用餐的時間其實並不是早餐時間,是下午,沒想到,用餐的客人還那麼多,所以,除了本地客之外,應該有不少是慕名而來的遊客,最後,我花了九牛二虎之力,總算解決了那一大盤美味的早餐拼盤,我真的是飽到天靈蓋,不過,我不後悔,看起來,晚餐應該可以不用吃了。




Many people might not be familiar with cai tow kway, which is actually radish cake—a traditional Chinese dish. Some Chinese breakfast spots sell radish cake. Personally, I don’t love it, but I don’t dislike it either—it’s fine. Sometimes, my mom cooks radish cake for my breakfast too. There’s this famous breakfast place my friend recommended; they said they’ve been eating there since they were young. The shop doesn’t just do breakfast—it’s open from morning until the afternoon, and during peak hours, it’s packed with people lining up. So, when I passed by and saw only two people in line, I figured it was manageable and decided to try it out.

While waiting in line, I checked out the menu on the store’s board to see what snacks I could get. The person in front of me ordered a set meal with radish cake, sticky rice sausage, and an egg for NT$60. Based on my guess, the radish cake was NT$25, the sticky rice sausage probably the same, and the egg—well, egg prices have gone up a lot lately. I’ve heard tea eggs at convenience stores now cost NT$13. The set meal’s price seemed reasonable, not too expensive. When it was my turn to order, I decided to go big and try more of their signature snacks. Even though I knew I wouldn’t be able to finish everything, I ordered a deluxe combo with radish cake, taro cake, sticky rice sausage, tempura, and an egg. I wanted to try a bit of everything.

With the loaded breakfast platter in hand, I headed to the dining area, which was a bit of a walk from the ordering counter. It seemed like this was a standard setup for these popular spots. The dining area was shared with a few other eateries, so this place must be a serious foodie hotspot. Once seated, I poured soy sauce and sweet chili sauce over my food and started eating. Honestly, even though their signature dish is radish cake, I wasn’t a fan. It wasn’t terrible, but the texture was too mushy for my liking. On the other hand, the slightly crispy sticky rice sausage was pretty good, but my favorite was the taro cake. Made from taro and fried, it was surprisingly delicious.

After tasting all the snacks, it was time to tackle the massive platter in front of me. The business here was clearly booming—the dining area was constantly buzzing with customers. There were young students, couples on dates, and elderly couples quietly enjoying their meals. And this wasn’t even breakfast time—it was the afternoon! I was surprised to see so many people still eating. Besides locals, there were probably quite a few tourists who came because of the hype. Finally, after what felt like forever, I managed to finish the entire platter. I was absolutely stuffed, but I didn’t regret it. Looks like I won’t need dinner tonight!

我以前學生時期學校附近的早餐店,有特殊的蘿蔔糕煮法,就是把蛋液稍微混和,卻沒有完全打成蛋花,與蘿蔔糕翻炒,雖然感覺上好像成分跟一般的蘿蔔糕加蛋一樣,吃起來口感卻完全不同。
