[WE 119] Never Underestimate the Power of a Woman with a Crochet Hook.

On WE 117, I wrote a post about my favorite weekend activity and surprisingly enough, this weekend's concept corelates with the latter. Could it be a coincidence? 🤔

Really, I like how Sir galenkp said “weekends are for DIY projects” because I can totally relate to that 😄. Remember I mentioned two weeks ago that Crocheting (my latest passion) is my favorite weekend activity? Well, this weekend, I happen to be working on a crochet DIY project. And yes, one of the major tools used in any crochet project is a crochet hook which is my favorite hand tool 🙃.

What is a Crochet hook? A crochet hook which can also be called a crochet needle is a round shaft with a hook at one end, which is used in pulling yarn or thread through loops to create crochet stitches. So basically, it is a small hand tool used in crocheting. Crochet hooks usually come in different types, sizes (millimeters) and are made from different materials such as steel, plastic, wood, aluminum, etc.

Asides crocheting, they can also be used in different instances whereby it's necessary to pull a string through a hole. Tailors, knitters and hairdressers could use them for different purposes.

I particularly love this tool so much because it is very handy and crafty. Without it, I wouldn't be able to engage in my favorite activity (Crocheting) and make beautiful crochet pieces 😊.

How do I use it? Well, using the 'knife grip' method which is my most comfortable position, I just hold the hook as I would normally hold a knife. I place my hand over the crochet hook with the handle resting against my palm while my thumb and other fingers grip the thumb rest of the hook. Then, I begin pulling through the loops of my yarn.

My crochet hook is solely used for making crochet projects and below are some DIY projects it has been used for.

As regards my title, I once saw those words somewhere. It was quoted by an unknown person and I thought it was beautiful and carried deep meaning. And you know, it's true. One shouldn't underestimate a woman with a crochet hook because she has the power to create anything 😃😌.
