Urban Portraits in Recoleta [ENG/ESP]
How are you, friends? Today I share with you some photos of a tour we did in the Recoleta neighborhood, they were still in my gallery and this series I had not shared with you. An afternoon walk through this beautiful neighborhood where Odemara and I did some portraits, we had a nice weather even though we are in winter and also we went with this intention.
Today I want to approach the subject of portraits and photography in general from another perspective, without highlighting each of the photos presented or the places where we took each shot.
¿Cómo están, amigos? Hoy les comparto algunas fotos de un recorrido que hicimos por el barrio de Recoleta, aún estaban en mi galería y ésta serie no las había compartido con ustedes. Un paseo de una tarde por este lindo barrio en dónde Odemara y yo hicimos algunos retratos, teníamos un agradable clima a pesar de que estamos en invierno y además fuimos con esta intención.
Hoy quiero abordar el tema de los retratos y de la fotografía en general desde otra perspectiva, sin destacar cada una de las fotos presentadas o los lugares en los cuales hicimos cada toma.
For you, what is better, quality or quantity? I think many people have the ability to recognize how much work is behind each photo, as well as how little effort goes into it. Looking for an attractive area is already part of this work, the production itself, the equipment used and the post-production where we give the final touches in terms of editing.
Therefore, for me, it is not the quantity but the quality and the noticeable effort behind each shared image that is more important.
Para ustedes, ¿Qué es mejor? ¿Calidad o Cantidad? Pienso que muchas personas tienen la capacidad de reconocer cuanto trabajo hay detrás de cada foto, así como también el poco esfuerzo en tal caso. Buscar una atractiva zona ya es parte de este labor, la producción en sí, los equipos utilizados y la postproducción en dónde damos los retoques finales en cuanto a edición.
Por ello para mí, no es más importante la cantidad sino la calidad y el esfuerzo notorio detrás de cada imágen compartida.
It happens to me in every photo shoot when selecting, for example out of 80 photos I choose the best ones (for me) and there are about 20 or less left. I also take it into consideration for the posts here... myself at the moment of publishing or of other authors at the moment of curating.
A picture says more than a thousand words and when it comes to photography, the greatest value is in relation to the photograph and not so much to the text. I clarify that it is still necessary and important to accompany the photographs with text related to what we show or share.
Me sucede en cada sesión fotográfica al momento de la selección, por ejemplo de 80 fotos elijo las mejores (para mí) y quedan alrededor de 20 o menos. También lo tomo en consideración para los posts acá... míos al momento de publicar o de otros autores al momento de curaciones.
Una imagen dice más que mil palabras y cuando se trata del ámbito netamente fotográfico el mayor valor es en relación a la fotografía y no tanto al texto. Aclaro, que no deja de ser necesario e importante acompañar las fotografías con texto relacionado a lo que mostramos o compartimos.
Likewise, each observer has their own interpretation of each photograph and I especially focus much more on the work that I observe in each image, taking into account lighting, angles, editing, etc.

PS: I don't consider selfies as photography itself. A selfie is not the same as a self-portrait (My point of view 😅)
De igual forma, cada observador tiene su propia interpretación de cada fotografía y yo en especial me enfoco mucho más en el trabajo que observo en cada imagen, tomando en cuenta la iluminación, ángulos, edición, etc.

PD: No considero las selfies como fotografía en sí. No es lo mismo una selfie que un autoretrato (Mi punto de vista 😅)
