Macro Photography with Inverted Lens.

DSC_0566_1.jpg

That's something really cool, I've done a technical test to start diving into macro photography without having a macro lens. I already knew there was a way to do it by inverting the lens, although in my case all I did was that, while holding it with my other hand, That is to say, it was not properly fitted to the camera.

To take this kind of photos this way, I don't have access to the aperture, it is manual so the closer I get to the object to portray the more focus I will have, manual focus and when the lens is not fixed on the camera there is a lot of instability in that sense, for these photos I used a kit lens 18-55mm, which allowed me to have much closer focus than other lenses such as the 50mm.

How I am a person who has forgotten shame 😂 I stopped at a flower shop and picked up some dead flowers and plants from the floor that had been thrown into the trash. I wanted to do the test to highlight the details in that state, why? Don't ask him... I don't know either 🤣 some of them still had dirt, dust and other particles that can be seen in these shots.

Do not use any type of artificial lighting. When taking the photos, place the plants near a balcony where a certain amount of natural light entered, in some cases the ISO was up to 3200 or 6400, I don't remember exactly. In lightroom I made some adjustments like noise reduction, obviously.

I also took a couple of photos of a stone that I had brought from the beach some time ago, I wanted to highlight the texture, the points, the pigments and how you can see a small stone very close.

I think it wasn't too bad for my "first" time trying to do macro photography, I didn't lose focus that much and I was able to get decent results.

This is what some dried leaves and a forgotten captus look like.

I also had a couple of flowers with dust and the truth is that it seemed interesting to me to leave everything as it was... Macro details of flowers or plants dying, it sounds weird 😅

I have a little more knowledge about how to improve in this genre, I know what other elements I should take into account and I will probably buy an inverted lens ring. The results will improve and I will feel more encouraged to work on these types of photos. For the next tests I promise to capture details of things that are more vivid and cleaner 🤣

If you stopped by here and appreciated these shots it already means a lot, if you leave a comment and there is feedback it is a highly valued and necessary plus.

Heeeeeyyy @dimascastillo90 friend!... Welcome to the world of macro and what an excellent way to get there!!!... Quite a good initial achievement and even more so considering that "you held the lens inverted with your hand" :) On the other hand: "Stealing flowers in the streets"... holy crap!... now that's in addition to chasing people and taking photos of them! :))

My friend, excellent macro captures in spite of not having the lens, I love the photographs with this style because they allow you to see things hidden to the naked eye and appreciate textures, shapes and colors that despite having them in front of us, we do not notice them.
