LED Purge Mask - Night Street Portraits (Part I) [ENG/ESP]
It's great what you can do when you are motivated, when you have inspiration or imagination and of course some time.
For a long time I have had in my mind many themes or type of photos that I want to do and there are very few that I have done or materialized either for reasons of time, equipment that I don't have or simply lack of encouragement. Several months ago I had bought a purge LED mask to make some night photos in the city and I had really forgotten about it. Among a bunch of stuff at home I found it and was immediately encouraged to go out.
Had to work on these types of photos once and for all and test what the results would be.
So... Join me in appreciating the shots I got that night.

Es genial lo que puedes hacer cuando estás motivado, cuando tienes inspiración o imaginación y por supuesto algo de tiempo.
Desde hace tiempo tengo en mi mente muchas temáticas o tipo de fotos que quiero hacer y son muy pocas las que he hecho o materializado ya sea por causas de tiempo, por equipos que no tengo o simplemente por falta de ánimos. Hace varios meses que había comprado una máscara LED de la purga para hacer algunas fotos nocturnas en la ciudad y realmente lo había olvidado. Entre un montón de cosas en casa la encontré y me animé de inmediato a salir.
Tenían que trabajar en este tipo de fotos de una vez por todas y probar cuáles serían los resultados.
Así que... Acompáñame a apreciar las tomas que conseguí esa noche.
We made it fun, I didn't want to stress at all about the location, light and backgrounds, much less about the camera settings, aperture, ISO, etc. I wanted to have a good time and enjoy both the photos and the city of fury, as many call Buenos Aires.
The place I thought for these photos was without hesitation the Avenida Corrientes, because it is very bright, plus a part of it is pedestrian, we arrived at the place and the first thing we did was to taste a couple of craft beers sold in some local shops in the area, so we toasted in advance for this work 🍻.

Lo hicimos divertido, no quería estresarme para nada sobre el lugar, la luz y los fondos, mucho menos sobre los ajustes de la cámara, diafragma, ISO, etc. Quería pasarla bien y disfrutar tanto de las fotos como de la ciudad de la furia, cómo muchos le llaman a Buenos Aires.
El lugar que pensé para estás fotos fue sin dudarlo la avenida corrientes, porque es muy iluminada, además de que una parte de ella es peatonal, llegamos al lugar y lo primero que hicimos fué degustar un par de cervezas artesanales que venden en algunos locales de la zona, de esta forma brindamos con antelación por este trabajo 🍻
The ideas I had and still have in mind for this kind of night portraits with this mask are many, in fact we only took very few pictures because we didn't have so much time available, it was a little late that day.
One of those ideas was to have a lot of background lighting, that's why we chose this place, I wanted the lights of some gastronomic places to be present in the composition, as is the case of the first two photos, and I also wanted some emblematic buildings that are illuminated. In that sense the place was perfect because there are also giant advertising screens with LED lighting and I wanted a lot of light on the spot.

Las ideas que tenía y que aún tengo en mente para este tipo de retratos nocturnos con esta máscara son muchísimas, de hecho solo hicimos muy pocas fotos porque no teníamos tampoco tanto tiempo disponible, era algo tarde ese día.
Una de esas ideas era tener mucha iluminación de fondo por eso elegimos este lugar, quería que en la composición estuviera presente las luces de algunos locales gastronómicos cómo es el caso de las primeras dos fotos y también quería algunos edificios emblemáticos que están iluminados. En ese sentido el lugar era perfecto porque hay además pantallas gigantes de publicidad con iluminación LED y yo quería mucha luz puntualmente.
Apart from all this my intention was also to incorporate some kind of cinematographic style, as if it were a movie scene, for this reason in the editing process I made variations of tones replacing the intense blue by a greenish blue. Blue tones that in many cases are characteristic of film photography, I did it in my own style without direct references.
So today I decided to share with you a first part that are confirmed by 6 photos. Most of them taken from the Plaza de la República where the iconic obelisk of Buenos Aires is located, except for the first two that were taken on Avenida Corrientes in front of the famous pizzeria Güerrín.

Aparte de todo esto mi intención también era incorporar algún tipo de estilo cinematográfico, cómo si se tratase de alguna escena de película, por este motivo en el proceso de edición hice variaciones de tonos sustituyendo el azul intenso por un azul verdoso. Tonos azulados que en muchos casos son característicos de la fotografía de cine, yo lo hice a mi propio estilo sin referencias directas.
Así que hoy he decidido compartir con ustedes una primera parte que son confirmadas por 6 fotos. La mayoría tomadas desde la plaza de la República dónde se encuentra el icónico obelisco de Buenos Aires, excepto las dos primeras que fueron tomadas en la avenida corrientes frente a la famosa pizzería Güerrín.
The model? Yes, because she is a woman... I can only say that I loved her and she had a great attitude for these poses and this theme. I'm not going to relieve her identity because it's obvious she has the mask for a reason (she doesn't want to be discovered 🤣).
There are more photos from tonight, possibly I can share two more posts as we tried also some long exposure shots that I find interesting to appreciate, possibly I will also share some black and white ones.

La modelo? Si, porque es mujer... Solo puedo decir que me ha encantado y tuvo una actitud genial para estas poses y esta temática. No voy a relevar su identidad porque es obvio que por algo tiene la máscara (no quiere ser descubierta 🤣).
Hay más fotos de esta noche, posiblemente pueda compartir dos posts más ya que intentamos también algunas tomas de larga exposición que me parecen interesantes de apreciar, posiblemente también comparta algunas en blanco y negro.
