Giants of Buenos Aires.

The giants of Buenos Aires is a term I use to refer to the large buildings of the city. Without planning I have made a compilation of some of these buildings that I have taken photos of during my walks, so we can find buildings from different areas or neighborhoods. In this way we can appreciate its magnitude and grandeur, some are very old but well preserved buildings, others are more modern.

But... What do you appreciate when you come across some of these emblematic structures? I can particularly spend many minutes in front of them appreciating every detail... Height, style, architecture, reliefs and more.

Let's take a short tour even if there are even anonymous buildings (for me)...

This is the imposing Bank of Boston (Ex), Now the main headquarters of the ICBC bank, the building was built after the First World War, in 1923. It has a Neoplateresque style and is located in the San Nicolás neighborhood.

From this angle you can see that curved shape, the multiple windows and balconies, the reliefs on its columns and that beautiful dome.

This is a photo in which I don't have to describe much. A group of buildings attached and above you can see part of one of the Bencich buildings. This is more for a photographic issue and angles or perspectives. Also about composition and the way those trees adorn the view 👇🏻

The Buenos Aires obelisk on Roque Saenz Peña Avenue, the best known in Buenos Aires worldwide. This minute was built in just two months, in 1936, having a height of 67.5 m. Its location is also in the San Nicolás neighborhood between 9 de Julio Avenue and Corrientes Avenue, specifically in the Plaza de la República.

How about we go to the Palermo neighborhood?

This is a beautiful basilica in the middle of Plaza Güemes in this area, with neo-Gothic architecture and two enormous towers that characterize this style. Unfortunately, at this time I did not have a more wide-angle lens, so I was not able to cover the towers in the time I had.

Just a simple and common residence building near Plaza Güemes with interesting geometric shapes in its style.

Another residential building that was very far from me, I think I used a focal length of 300mm for this shot. I love how the trees adorn this image of this building. I hope you liked it, my best wishes to all 🖤
