Holla guys! Hope you all are doing well and are healthy.

Today, I'm gonna share with you my Rishikesh river rafting experience here.
This was my second river rafting experience. Earlier I had the opportunity to do river rafting in Dandeli, Karnataka, India. The experience I have shared in my previous blogs.

Rishikesh, located in the northern state of Uttarakhand in India, is known for its natural beauty and spiritual significance. It is also a hub for adventure sports enthusiasts, particularly those interested in river rafting. I recently had the opportunity to go on a 16 km-long river rafting adventure in Rishikesh, and it was an experience of a lifetime.

The journey started in the afternoon around 3 pm. We were picked from our hostels by the rafting crew. After a quick briefing on safety measures and instructions on how to navigate through the rapids by our leader, we were all set to hit the water. The rafting team consisted of a guide and six of us, all equipped with life jackets and helmets.

This is us before the start of rafting. All dry

In our raft, before rapids all happy

The first few kilometers were relatively calm, giving us time to get used to the flow of the river and the rhythm of paddling. But soon, we reached the first rapid, and the adrenaline rush kicked in. The thrill of the rapids was indescribable, as we were bounced around by the water and had to work together as a team to navigate through them.

As we moved further down the river, the rapids got bigger and more challenging, requiring us to be even more alert and coordinated. There were moments when the raft was completely submerged under the water, and we had to hold our breath and hang on tight until we emerged on the other side.

Along the way, we also got to witness the stunning natural beauty of Rishikesh. The river was flanked by lush green hills, and there were several waterfalls and small rapids that we passed by.

We even got to stop at a few places to take a dip in the cool and refreshing water.

One of the highlights of the trip was the "Roller Coaster" rapid, which was particularly intense and thrilling. We also got to try our hand at "body surfing," where we jumped off the raft and let the river carry us downstream.

The entire journey lasted for about three hours, and by the end of it, we were all exhausted but exhilarated. We enjoyed Maggie and a cup of tea after this tiring experience. It was a great bonding experience for the group, as we had to work together and rely on each other's strengths to make it through the rapids.

Witnessing the stunning natural beauty of Rishikesh.

In conclusion, the 16 km long river rafting experience in Rishikesh was one of the most memorable adventures I have ever had. It combined the thrill of the rapids with the stunning natural beauty of the surroundings, making for an unforgettable experience. If you ever get the chance to go river rafting in Rishikesh, don't hesitate to take it. It's an experience you won't regret.

The pictures are clicked with go-pro available with one of the crew members.

At the end All wet.

Here, we stopped by and enjoyed Hot Tea and Maggie after all wet.

Overall it was a thrilling, budget-friendly experience that I will advise everyone to experience at least once in a lifetime.

Namaste Diksha,

I did it in 2021 and it was one of the best experiences, we had a group of 5 friends and enjoyed it a lot. We did it at the starting of March, I think it was 1st or 2nd of March and the water was freezing at that time. But we had a lot of fun.

That was my first rafting experience and that was not planned as well. It was off-season for rafting but we still managed to get a boat. Some of the best things are not planned in life...right?

Thanks for sharing your experience. Have a blessed day!
