WHEN THERE ARE NO RULES
Wow, this is one of the topics that requires real thinking and imagination. What would a society without rules look like? It's true that chaos reigns in any society or organization where there are no rules and regulations. But then, it's popularly remarked that where there is no rule or law, there is no crime. I've never really sat down to imagine what it would be like if there were no rules and we all have the free hand to do as we like, up until this prompt came up.
Basically rules and regulations or perhaps laws are the the barriers that puts a limit on the excesses of the animalistic part of humans. They are meant to define what is acceptable and humane and what isn't so our lifestyle and life choices won't be detrimental to others. If I woke up one day and realized that for the next twenty four (24), there would be no rules whatsoever governing the whole world, I can imagine the following being visible the following day:
DESTRUCTION OF LIVES AND PROPERTY
Just as I said earlier, rules restricts our animalistic tendencies. Rules are like the ropes used to tie up our inner animals. A world without these rules - even for only 24 hours - would be like untying the dragon, it would leave wreckage in its wake. That's the same thing that would happen here, people would want to utilize the opportunity to perpetrate all sorts of things that the would have had locked up in them for fear of getting caught. I can imagine burglary of all sorts and kinds, rape, robbery and abuses.
FREEDOM
I know this might sound a bit weird and out of point. But then you'll have to agree with me that there a rules out there which are intended to stifle the people and deprive them of their true freedom. This could be freedom of speech, of association, of religion and even of movement. I know many of us here might not be going through this but there are millions of people out there in different countries, cities, towns and even villages who are affected by these kind of stifling rules.
Imagine places where women can't speak in public or attain heights restricted for only the male gender. Imagine places where the feudal system of government is still practiced. Yeah! I guess you now get where I'm coming from. Let's say freedom of speech for example, true freedom of speech is not in being able to say what the rule allows, but in saying your mind without the fear of punishment from breaking the rules.
GENERAL CHAOS
Imagine being able to drive pass the traffic light while it's indicating red (whi means STOP). Imagine being able to walk into that your favourite shop and picking anything without paying. Just imagine, perhaps it sounds like the real sound of free life right? But then the same way you'd like doing it is the same way thousands of others would want to, and that would simply be chaos. This would lead to people trying to get the best they can for nothing and this would lead to pandemonium and violence.
Living in a society without rules for just one day would definitely be an experience of a lifetime, although I believe that the ugly repercussions would surpass the good ones.

You've said a lot and agree with you. Taking away the law from humans will be the worst thing that will ever happen to us.
It might be the worst, it might also be what some people need
Yeah, it might but I hope it never happens because the disadvantage of it is surely going to be more than the advantages.

You are right..
Rules prevent animalistic behaviours and that are about freedom I agree too no rules means you get freedom from all restrictions.
Seeing chaos is definitely going to be the result of no rules.
Yeah! Thanks man for dropping me by
In such a volatile environment, everyone will be careful how they react to every other thing because a single mistake can mean the loss of life. That would not be an ideal world to live in at all.
Thank you for sharing this with us.
