Ivy League Hoax
It was a bright and sunny morning and I had been awoken by a sweet aroma creeping into my bedroom. I couldn't resist and jerked up immediately, eager to start my day with a steaming cup of my favourite coffee. The aroma got stronger as I made my way to the kitchen, excited for that first sip of caffeine.
As I leaned on the door to savour the exquisite figure that was swaying through the kitchen floor, Ivy immediately caught my presence and gave me a sly grin from across the kitchen. She had a reputation for being cheeky and annoyingly playful. That was one of the reasons I loved her, and coupled with the promise of that freshly brewed coffee, all my defences evaporated within seconds.
With a mischievous twinkle in her eye, Ivy motioned to me saying,
"I thought I'd make your coffee extra special today, honey." She handed me the coffee cup, and I took a cautious sip. Immediately, my taste buds were assaulted by a bizarre and unpleasant flavour. It was as if my morning coffee had been brewed in a pot of hotdog water.
I spit out the coffee and gagged.
"What on earth did you do?" I exclaimed, my eyes wide with disbelief.
She burst into wild laughter, her hand covering her mouth.
"April Fools!" she exclaimed, revealing her prank. "I replaced the water in the coffee maker with hotdog water just to see your reaction."
I felt like lashing out at her, but I couldn't help but laugh at her audacity.
"Well, you certainly got me," I admitted. "That's the craziest prank you've ever pulled."
She chuckled, clearly pleased with herself. "I thought you could use a little wake-up call this April Fools' Day." she started, still laughing "besides you've been playing smart with all of my pranks lately and it was fun finally getting to you" she added
I couldn't deny that she had succeeded in catching me off guard. "Alright, you win this round," I conceded, grabbing a fresh coffee filter and some clean water to make a proper cup of coffee.
As I brewed my own coffee, Ivy watched with a grin. "I promise not to mess with your coffee again," she said, finally revealing her guilt after noticing that I was not completely over the issue.
I finished making my coffee and handed her a cup of her own still not smiling.
"It's all in good fun," I said, clinking my cup against hers. "But just remember, payback is always a possibility."
The rest of the day went by smoothly, with no more pranks or surprises. Ivy decided to make my favourite pounded yam and white soup to appease me and we enjoyed a peaceful April Fools' Day, filled with laughter and shared cups of coffee and kisses.
We even discussed plans for the pranks we could pull together next year, deciding that teamwork might make April Fools' Day even more entertaining. But little does she know that I keep to my promises and have started cooking up a revenge prank.
She indeed cut you off guard. I bet you have also been pulling crazy pranks too.
The pounded yam and white soup was a big bribe. Haha
the game is the game, and she won this round
and sadly it worked....for the immediate though

Awwn, such a cute couple. It's surprising you didn't play your prank back on her.
I would have done my own back😅😅.
April Fool's pranks are always the best cos for some reason we always forget and never see it coming.
Nice story dear.
