The mystery of the day
Two strange things happened that day.
I will tell you what they were but first let's take a second to talk about the economy.
Just kidding, I don't want to talk about it and I'm pretty sure you don't want to hear about it either.
Either way, back to my story.
"I'm sorry, I lost my focus, what was I saying again?"
"Oh right, the two life changing events that took place on that fateful day and also the reason I'm currently at a station sitting in a holding cell"

It was just an ordinary sunny day, everything was normal.
The waves crashed against the shore, the birds chirped and did whatever birds did when no one was watching, and finally for the McCarthy family, it was that time of the year when my parents showed off my brother and I to their socialite friends.
Incase you couldn't tell, I most definitely was not looking forward to it.
I was born to extremely wealthy parents. My parents were so rich that their next five to eight generation would still live comfortably even without having to work a day of their lifes.
Due to this fact, they were always super busy trying to maintain their status in the society.
My older brother and I were catered and provided for of course but we never really experienced the love a parent should give their children.
My brother, Alexander, who was four years older than me never said anything. He was the perfect child, next in line to inherit everything.
I on the other hand, Alexandria McCarthy, was a standard mess.
Alexander, Alexandria, I know that's what you must be thinking. My parents didn't have the time to come up with something more original.
My brother and I hardly spoke. I guess he always saw me as the clumsy little sister that couldn't get anything right.
I still remember the glare I got from him as if it was yesterday when I had accidentally slipped and my entire food landed on his girlfriend last year.
If I'm being honest I was actually grateful for my clumsiness for once because Natasha is just awful.
So the evening set out as usual, our parents talked and fake laughed with their friends . The hour came for Alexander and I to mingle. I went downstairs, made small talk with certain people but I noticed something, my brother hadn't come down.
That was odd.
It didn't take long, the hush whispers that started from the servants spread round the room. Alexander was no where to be found and that was the first thing that happened;
My perfect dutiful brother had run away from home.
Natasha didn't know where he was, infact as it turned out no one had actually set eyes on him for three whole days.We all thought he was somewhere in the huge house.
The police got involved and I was sent up to my room, that I was glad about because it took me away from a wailing Natasha.
I was taking off my jewellery when my phone began to ring. I picked it up, noticing that the number was strange.
I didn't answer, but the number kept calling.
I finally answered, the caller didn't wait a second.
"Alexandria I need you to listen to me. I don't have much time. Dad is into some really shady business and Mum has been covering up for him for years. I didn't want to get you involved but I can't handle it on my own. I took some of Dad's files, I was going to show them to the cops to put Dad on their radar, unfortunately I grabbed the wrong ones. I hate to ask this of you but I need you to break into Dad's company"
I gasped, "I can't do that, I'm super clumsy and security is so tight. I'm surely going to get caught"
"Listen to me Alexandria, you're one the smartest people I know. You can do it", he continued as if sensing my resolve, "Here's what you need to do".
And that people, brings me to the second thing that happened;
"Alexandria McCarthy, the good obedient billionaire heiress got arrested and thrown in jail".
I had succeeded in hacking and breaking into my owns father's company. I couldn't believe it.
He had been embezzling public funds and taxes, more?.
He was also involved in selling things I cannot even name.
To say I was shocked was an understatement. The looked so perfect on the outside.
I was almost out when my clumsy feet triggered an alarm.
"Alexandria McCarthy, your bail has been paid, you're free to go".
I followed the officer to the front desk where my brother was standing. I ran to him, hugging him tight. I had never hugged him before, it felt nice.
"Did you get them?", he asked
I nodded, "What now?"
"We are going to make sure they can't hurt anyone else again".
"We?, I thought you didn't like me"
He sighed, "I'm sorry I made you feel that way and I'm sorry about Natasha. I was only doing what they wanted but not anymore", he smiled, "We are a team, always have been and always will be"
I smiled back, "I guess I'll let you can tag along for the meantime".
I knew that day had marked a change in my life, but I also knew I was going to do everything to make sure my father stops hurting people with Alexander by my side.
Oh wo. This is the perfect example of sibling rivalry and the fact that the evil deeds of their parents brought them together instead of set them further apart is really something. These two are good people who almost got duped of their relationship with each other by bad parents.
In the end I'm happy it turned out well, Besides I think they were always meant to be a tag team,
Alexander and Alexandria, now I'm jealous and I want to share an almost exact name with my sibling 😂😂
Thanks for reading ❤️❤️
Parents! Always getting up to some mischief or other.
BTW Should the final words perhaps read 'with Alexander by my side?'
Thank you very much... I hadn't even noticed, guess the two names got to me too😊😊
I've corrected it and thanks again for taking the time to read❤️❤️
Alexandria and Alexander transcended shady parents, annoying girlfriends, and uncomfortable social situations to bring down an inner-family crime cabal, all in one day! I'm sure it will be hard for them to be poor after the family's assets are reallocated, but that's a small price to pay for integrity! Thank you for sharing your story with us, and for your engagement with other members of the community.
Very good story, I'm glad that Alexander and Alenxandria could have a better sibling relationship.
Good thing the siblings later got back together after the wrongs of their parents. Great story.
