Improving my A game on Chess 960 after a tough week
I missed the Friday tournament at Hivechess for the first time in a long time and I felt it quite bad on the board. I couldn't go due to work. It's always good to have some extra income, but I've been practicing my game on Chess960 recently, and it hasn't gone badly
I want to share some games and thoughts with you: Chess960 is perhaps the most difficult to master due to the chaos that exists from the start of the game. I would say that it's about ordering the chaos and in many of these games you can see that
Starting with the simple, one of the peculiarities of many of these games is that they were played with the same initial position of the pieces. I don't know if it's a mistake or something, but at least in this game I had the position memorized a little more and I was able to get my pieces out quickly. I think that's essential. Get them out quickly if you want to be able to attack before your opponent
Time is something you have to keep an eye on as well because most of the games I play are 1 minute long and between understanding the starting position and what you have to do after knowing where your pieces are, it can cost you a few precious seconds that you can't use later.
I admit that many times I have had to resort to my agility to annoy the opponent in positions that I have more than lost
I had my particular match against a player and it seems that I can set as a goal to overcome the barrier of 2000 points in a few days, that is if the level does not increase absurdly as it usually happens, although even at these lower levels it is quite difficult to get an advantage in a game.
Here I ran into one of the heavyweights that was online and completely destroyed me, I think I still have to go to reach that level but I think I can get there
Anyway, that's all for today, again I regret not having reached hivechess, work calls sometimes and you have to answer but I hope to be able to go to the next one and recover the lost ground!
Congratulations!
