TACO TUESDAYS : THE WET NOODLE EPISODE 2

Today I am back a gain with my #Taco-Tuesdays post. For you who do not know what is this post, It's a routine foodie post I make on every Tuesday in #freecompliments community. This post is not only about Taco, but it's all about food, it's a foodie post!

I open this post with a noodle image, and there is a specific reason why Iam talking about that noodle this time. I make this post as a sequel of my previous post here:

https://inleo.io/@dewabrata/not-so-taco-tuesdays-reason-for-an-empty-place-g8b

It's my #Taco-Tuesdays post from 3 weeks ago. That time I was telling my story about a failed fried Kwetiau, which was to wet and watery. The noodle was a fried noodle, so I should be dried and I had to dried them off using some tissue.

In this post, I will share you a reference why the cook thought it should be like that. There is another noodle dish, and that dish is very popular too. It's called as Ya-Mien or Yamin. It is an adapted chinese cuisine into local taste, where people have replaced the minced pork with chicken cuts due to religion belief.

I will share my short story about Yamin Noodle here, but not in deep because the place I picked was not good at making Yamin Noodle. I just picked the place because it was close to my working place.

YAMIN, NOT BAKSO

There was a small hut with a cart that have some noodles on their menu. However it's not a noodle stall...

I picked this place, you can read there BAKSO written there. Bakso means meatball here, although the real translation should be Pork Meat. But people here already adopted Bakso into cow or chicken meatball.

If you order Bakso, it should be a soup with some meatballs. You can ask for some noodle as the side dish. So why did I pick this place anyway? Because most bakso stalls have Chicken Noodle and this Yamin noodle. It's kind of accepting consumers requests or capturing the market. The question will be are they good or not... which the answer is so so for this stall.

Anyway I did not know earlier if this place Yamin Noodle would be so so, I used to come here for the meatball soup. They were good with their Bakso / Meatball dishes.

Another consideration for me was that they provided some condiments there. Chili Sauce, Tomato Ketchup, Sweet Soy, Peppers, and many more.

That's my order, They gave plenty of Spring Onion here LoL. Below was how my noodle looked like. They kind of stingy giving the chicken cuts. A good stalls should give more than this, such as adding Quail egg and mushroom.

Basically the noodle has no soup or water below. It is not dried either.

And this is the meat ball. They cut if like that to make the heat penetrated faster so it will be well cooked with less time. To be honest, the meat ball taste good. It's his specialty anyway.

when you ordered yamin noodle, you can not drink all those meatball soup. You need some of that soup to pour into your noodle bowl.

So let's start from here:

I added some of the condiments onto the noodle. I like spicy stuffs, but that time I preferred not to go with high level spiciness. So I only went with a bit of chili sauce, soy sauce and plenty of white peppers.

Then I added some soup, little by little and mix them all together

This is how a Yamin Noodle will look after the mix. They become a bit brownies, the taste can be sweet or salty, depends on your order and condiments mix. and of course, they are wet and watery, you can see little below there, the thick brown soup.

The level of wetness is exactly the same with my char kwetiaw from 3 weeks ago. But this is how a Yamin noodle should be, not what a char Kwetiau should be.

Anyway that's the noodle episode for this week. Have fun with noodle!!! they are great!
