My dCity Journal - Can't Afford New Young Citizen Anymore

Dear fellow citizen of dCity

How are you today? I hope we all are enjoying our dCity game.

It's been almost two week since my last weekly dCity post. I have been busy recently however I still can enjoy to see how my dCity has progressed and what the challenge, gain and trouble it has.

Actually that's the good part about idle game, they don't ask you to be committed spending part of your time to play them. Well they are not the best in any category but surely they, same for dCity, can give you certain enjoy if you like the game.

I make a funny title for today, CAN'T AFFORD NEW YOUNG CITIZEN ANYMORE. That's a funny title, isn't it. I have my own reason why I pick that title, but before I go further, you might want to check several posts about dCity from me before, which I shared my experience there. They are:

  1. Lesson 1 : It starts with Tax Refund https://peakd.com/hive-140084/@dewabrata/lesson-1-starting-with-the-tax-refund-fbo
  2. Lesson 2 : Farming Young Citizen https://peakd.com/hive-140084/@dewabrata/lesson-2-farming-young-citizen-6yd

What Happens On My dCity

I have to say that I have big problem in my dCity, I believe my dCity can't afford any New Young Citizen anymore. Here check this below:

I was in a heatlhy competition with my friends, @ramadhanight and @arveno in this game. Our rank are close to each other, however today I found out that they have left me far behind.

as I keep getting free young citizen, my Income dips worse and worse. This sounds like a rubbish because I have noticed this issue and I have been pushing my dCity up by buying some cards every week.

I have that motto, you know, I keep saying that I won't withdraw or take out any earning before 3 months or 100 days milestones. That is a good motivation however motivation should be based by something realistic.

Today I realized that goal is not realistic. Why? let's see closer on my dCity.

I have a total 89 active cards or active NFTs for my dCity and almost half of them are young citizen. 40 of 89 cards, or we can say 45% of my dCity is a bunch of young citizen. They have eaten my total income and punish the other citizen with a superbly huge SIM Support demand.

So I do not have more width or depth to support those young citizen. I could buy more and more cards, but in the end this will make my dCity not as play2earn game, but more like play2pay game. It would not be a play to win because this is an idle game anyway.

So Like it or not, my option are only two... First is keep drilling a hole in my wallet to support my idealism of 100 days start... or the second one, which I have decided to take, is to dump those young citizen so I don't have to be burdened by them and my dCity can still grow in a more organic way.

Dumping / Selling dCity Young Citizen.

There are many way we can dump those young citizen. The easiest one is of course the most unwanted one, is by trashing them out for free. You can send them to null or send them to other players. I like the more reasonable way, which is to sell them on market. I think NFT MART has one of the easiest way to do this, and you can check it here: https://nftm.art/inventory/city

One of the most useful tools there is that you can set your card based on market prices and you can do it on multiple cards in one go. I have decided to sell off 10 of my young citizens and you can see I am setting my price about 1% below the market price.

This won't end up as an instant sell anyway, but I think this is still a lot better rather than set their price one by one.

Today Purchase

There is no progress without new NFT so I have to get some cards in order to make my dCity grows organically. I still use the same d.apps, NFT Mart and I see some good cards in low price there:

With 3549 $SIM I could get these two cards, Basic Home and Barbershop. 4 population, 3 job workers taken, 7 populatiry and 9 income. I think this is a very good price.

There, I bought those two. And this is how my dCity looks right now:

The total cards or NFT drops 8 points because I sell 10 NFT and buy 2 NFT. That's a 8 point drop. Overall this won't change anything however I think in long run it will make a big different. I try to get more NFT cards from selling my young citizens now, until I reach a point which I believe I can house in more young citizens.

and that closes my post today, see you next week...
