Hack The Firepower, Beat The Number of Units
Hi everyone welcome back again to my Battle Mage Secret challenge. Same as the previous one, we still have this HOLY PROTECTION as our themed ruleset.
in my previous post here: https://peakd.com/hive-140084/@dewabrata/get-as-many-units-you-can-exploit-the-divine-shield , I have talked about going with the maximum number of units to exploit the Divine shield ability from Holy Protection. However sometime it doesn't work for various reason.
In this opportunity, as my second entry of this challenge for Holy Protection, I would share how to beat opponents who comes with more units than you during this ruleset.
Ok let see the battle, shall we?
THE BATTLE
I got this battle on my Scholarship account from Bulldog1205. This was a modern Silver rank battle, so my opponent was definitely a human. Usually this would go well for me because I was quite good in low mana cap battle.
18 mana cap... Would I use 6 units team for this? I wanted to but I had different Idea this time. I believed on this situation, most players would think about using a certain card that have a weapon training ability.
He is Moxian Rebel. Somehow I keep seeingmany people love to spam using this card, even their meta might be far from great. I do not think they are dumb, they spam this card a lot because they see it gives a good result.
The problem with Moxian rebel is that the damage is only 1 magic damage. So if I could hold that multiple 1 magic attacks, their attack should be useless
Let see how this would go then...
- Round 1 started with both of us delivered our buffs and debuffs. My opponent was a text book type, he delivered a good meta which his formation centered in his Baakjira. Meanwhile my formation was a very straight forward, all went through and from the front gate
- My opponent had 1 melee damage and 3 magic damage. They made 4 damage per round.
- My team had 2 melee damage and 5 magic damage, combined all I had 7 damage per round.
- Definitely my firepower was almost twice of them, but they had more units which meant they had more divine shield.
- Round 2 started with both team still had their full team members. It's still 4 vs 6, none died yet.
- They lost their Vruz in this round but that's on their plan, to exploit Vruz martyr ability... which later turned out useless
- I could say that they already lost from this point forward. First their Baakjira got affliction so that fish could not heal himself anymore. Second, seriously 1 magic damage would not do any damage to my Xenith Monk.
- round 4 was still like this. Although Baakjira was losing, it took a lot of time to kill him. Let's fast forward everything starting from this round
- Finally Baakjira was down in Round 5. So Round 6 we could see things were already on my grasp.
- Let's ended this one here. No point seeing two small mana units trying to prolong the rounds. Good Game
CLOSURE AND DISCUSSION
My Meta was very simple, I only needed two units to make it happened
The first one is Xenith Monk. I needed him actually due to his Void ability, which could nulled opponent 1 magic damage. His healing is just a bonus, eventhough it is great to have him heals himself on fast speed, and later on lowest speed... My second core card will heal him too.
My second card is this dude. The Goblin Psychic. I needed him due to his Affliction and Silence ability. With his Affliction, my team could nullify high health opponents from keep healing themselves. In this case, it was Baakjira. And Silence ability would reduce the magic damage, hopefully to 1 magic damage so all of those magic attacks will be nullified by Xenith Monk void ability... and It worked!!
So basically I won this battle not from exploiting the Holy Protection ruleset, but from negating or countering my opponent who tried to exploiting the Holy Protection ruleset. From this battle too we could learn two things:
- Moxian Rebel is people favorite, however this card excells when you have Obsidian as your Summoner. Else, as you see in this battle, they could be tricked, hacked, or trapped and perform awfully like a clown.
- My formation was not great, in fact you could beat it easily with many line up. We could say that every line up or meta is effective against certain meta, and there is no holy grail or the best one that could bested anyone here.
