Finally Good Brawl Result, Individually and As a Guild
Hi everyone, Welcome to my weekly Splinterlands post.
I haven't made any post about my brawl activity for weeks. It's been weird for me because when I was playing well, my guild was not on a good form. When my guild performed well, I lost all battles LoL. Luckily the last brawl did not end up like that, so in this opportunity I would like to share my last Brawl Result.
I won 3 battles in fray 24, which was a Gold Foil Diamond League. I think this is the highest points I could get with my deck, which the rest of my opponents were always be the best of the best in this game.
Even though I have won 3 battles, it looks like I sit on the third position from below. Well this is actually a good one for the guild, because we did not have good participation from the members, maybe some of us were busy, but we still managed to get a good winrate.
Anyway We sit on the 6th position, but you can see we manage to get a good point gap from the 7th. more than 60 points or 20 wins, that's a good gap. So we can say next brawl they need to put a lot more efforts to catch up with us.
Anyway for you who haven't played Splinterlands, let me show you something.
I needed around 10-15 minuntes to fill the brawl battles, and I got 203 SPS rewards which was equivalent with 2,1 USD. Playing less than half an hour, you get $2. Well it is not something that special, but this show Splinterlands is still strong.
However I do not want to oversell anything here, just do your #DYOR about #splinterlands, and for my fellow splinterlands players, let's have more fun in BRAWLS!!!
HIGHLIGHTED BATTLE
It's hard for me to play in Fray 24 Gold Foil Diamond Cap League regarding my cards mostly are in Silver-Gold cap. However I like it because It gives a challenge for me and that keeps me in high spirit in playing Splinterlands. It is not about the money only, but it's the game which is fun too.
So let me show you one of the battles I manage to in that brawl, It's againts Kheldar1982A. I almost win all my brawl against him, so maybe I should not poke him in this post. LoL, I do not want he knows how I plan my battle against him.
I like to have him as my opponent because he doesn't have max level deck too. Our deck levels are a bit similar, so this is why all battles against him are what I must win at any cost. The ruleset was very hard, which we had Noxious Fumes (poison), Upclose and Personal (melee only), and Reverse speed.
This battle should be a good one because Kheldar and I came with different element. He was using a Dragon and I was using pure Fire Team. My approach was simple:
- I set two of my melee team who had immunity ability. I put them behind so the other would be injured first from the poison.
- I used arkemis the bear because I needed his protect ability that gave armors to all my team. Arkemis The Bear had big health too, so poison would not kill him easily.
- Two heavy hitters as the sneak team. I must opened to a condition that they used same tactic with me, having some immunity units on backline position.
Ok let's see how this would go
- The battle started with both side buffing their team and debuffing their opponent.
- They came with 17 Melee damage and 2 range damage, which made a combined 19 damage per round. They made a smart move, getting Tatiana Blayde who had range attack.
- My team had 14 Melee damage per round. However it would get bigger when my Gargoya Lion died, because Forgotten One and Drybone Hobgoblin would come forward and joined the battle.
- IF there wasn't any reverse speed ruleset, I would have lost badly here. But reverse speed would change the flow.
- My team killed their Vruz, that looked good because at this point it became 5 vs 6. The armors from their Arkemis The Bear really held back my Sandworm and Orella Abadon
- This turn I killed another of their units, the whelp herder
- Round 3 started with I had full team. The reason why they were so underperformed was due to my Gargoya Lion. He had a flying ability and he was slower which meant he dodged better in reverse speed ruleset.
- Too bad my Gargoya Lion died in this round.
- Round 4 started with my Forgotten One came up a front, and my Drybone Hobgoblin got into second position which he could join attacking opponent using his reach ability.
- and as predicted before, It's an instant wiped out here. Good Game.
Drybone Hobgoblin
Fire Element has many melee units, including melee units who have reach ability. This makes people see Drybone Hobgoblin as useless one. Well to be honest, I do think this unit is weak, there are other better reach ability users in fire element.
I believe all cards have their own required condition which can make them become very effective and out perform stronger one. For Drybone Hobgoblin, little league ruleset could bring out his best because he can fit in well 4 mana or less as the requirement.
However Noxious fumes or poison ruleset is the best one from my perspective. I like a meta which I put my poison-proof units behind. So when they came up, their opponent already wounded badly. It seemed that Drybone Hobgoblin is proven to be dangerous during this ruleset.
So what do you think, this Hobgoblin is worth to get for, or just another filler who is easily replacable? Do let me know in the comment below and that's the end for my Splinterlands post today, thanks for coming and have a blast in Splinterlands Brawl!!
