Enrage + Recharge = Out of Control

(Edited)

Welcome to my weekly Slinterlands post, as usual I am sharing my Splinterlands game activities here on Hive. Today I want to share one of my experiment, the same as this post title, it is combining Enrage + Recharge. This should produce a mega damage.

In past I have posted enraged Coerl Lurker which made him dodge all incoming attacks. However that's the past, how about today? Enrage increase 50% speed and 50% melee damage, so if we combine that 50% melee damage with a recharge ability, we could see some 450% damage delivered... That will be an instant kill...

However, the problem is... where is the opportunity to use that tactic?

Luckily I got a battle with above ruleset. 99 mana cap, so we can say there is no limit in card selection. However we can not pick Fire and Death element, but it's ok lah because my concern is on Life Element.

Why Life? Because the unit I want to use is there... It is Uriel The Purifier!

image.png

I need a melee unit with recharge, and Uriel the Purifier meets that requirement. Uriel is a good option for "What Doesn't Kill You", the enrage ability ruleset. We need high health unit for enrage, except if you want to see them die first without any retaliation.

Yes, I am talking about retaliation. That's the concept of Enrage, you need to be injured first. But getting injured to near death is stupid, that's why big unit like Uriel, which I mean having High health and High damage, fits the most for this one.

Ok enough with the blabbering, let's check how this battle go

HIGHLIGHTED BATTLE

Ok this is it. The battle is worth for experiment because my opponent is very strong. They all come with max level units, and lead by Lux Vega the neutral summoner. Technically I should lose this battle. They have better summoners, better units and I can only hope my units win due to ruleset.

So here are some key points of my strategy

  1. I have Usut in the backline. I need to reduce incoming damage first, can't have all damage come to my Uriel the purifier. It's a 99 mana battle, anything goes!
  2. I have a backup core unit, she is Olivia The Brook. Mimic is a scary ability, she could learn fly, or poison, or anything. However it's a double edge knife, she could be a useless bum too.
  3. The rest? all fly units...

Well my strategy is simple right, bet all on Uriel The Purifier. I need to do this way, because no way I could win over Max Level Deck led by Lux Vega if I do not try something out of the box or outsmart him.

image.png

  • The battle started with both side buffing their team and debuffing their opponent. I felt insecure seeing my opponent speed. They all were faster!
  • They came with 16 Melee damage, 4 range damage and 3 magic damage, which made a combined 23 damage per round. That was a ridiculous fire power!
  • My team had 4 Melee damage, 5 range damage and 5 magic damage. So we had a combined 14 per round. My team was lacking 9 damage per round to catch up with them. 9 damage was somehow equal to a unit health point lol.
  • So this battle should be one sided, and I believed it would. My hope was the earthquake would catch up later, because none of them could fly... except that Gargoya Devil

image.png

  • Both of us lost a unit in first round, However this was far from equal. First, they lost their weakest unit and I lost my tank. that's not equal at all.
  • Second, you could see almost all of their units had double digit Health Point.
  • the last... We are talking about my Uriel the Purifier would be a game changer right?

image.png

  • well, he got demoralized and got halving too... Were we relying a recharge mega hit from 1 melee damage?

image.png

  • This was we should say awful. My team could not kill any in round 2 and they killed a unit of mine. Their health point were still full too.
  • however from this point forward, things started to change... Because they deeplurker died and this made their demoralize debuff gone too.

image.png

  • You might think where was the difference.. My team looked like the losing one, right? well here I show you what my Enrage + Recharge meta was:

image.png

  • see that, even Uriel got halved, he still delivered 9 damage... Its a

now let see what happened next

image.png

  • What do you say? Could I win this battle? Well, my team could survive round 5.

image.png

  • Now Round 6, things looked worse, right?

image.png

  • but we still have that boom shakalaka stuff 😂, ok let's fast forward and see the end.

image.png

  • Well, their deeplurker survived from boom shaka laka attack, but he died in the next round, the round 9th. Good Game.

It's A Boom Shakalaka

It's fun to see a working recharge ability, because most of the time it doesn't work well and you become a punching sandbag. This battle showed that well. let go back to this point:

image.png

It's a sure lose if I did not have that Uriel Recharge hit, heals and big health. Those all are in one package needed to win, not a point can be tolerated. So I really do not know whether Uriel The Purifier is really that strong, or the Meta of Enrage + Recharge is the decisive.

In general, like I have said above, I would not win that battle if I did not gamble all by combining that What Doesn't Kill You ruleset with Uriel The Purifier. So I think I can say Enrage + Recharge = Out of Control, whether you lose badly or you win over against impossible to beat opponent.

So what do you think? It's my meta working or you think this is just a pure luck? Anyway thanks for coming and see you in Splinterlands Battles!!

I like to play around with these crazy synergies too, it's very cool when they work, well found!
I was sure you would lose, GG!

O... it's Iziar, not Usut 😉

Oh ya, you are right. I often get mix in name, usually one name units. In past this Iziar and Usut. the newer soulbound have some single name such as Gallius, Grifzi and some more... oh damn it will be headache LoL

I know, right!? I notice the names are just too hard, and I remember them at 'that 3 mana guy with the sneak' description 😅
