My special birthday gifts

The older I get, the less I expect gifts on my birthday. I've had enough of birthday wishes from my family and friends. Honestly, I only expect sincere prayers from them. Because I think it's more valuable and is the most beautiful gift in life. But maybe they want to do what's best for me, so they prepared a gift that I'm very grateful for.

On my thirty-third birthday, I was married and got a special gift from my husband. He knows that I am someone who values effort more than expensive gifts. That's why he secretly cooked yellow rice to surprise me. Yellow rice is the symbol of birthday celebration in our tradition, it is just like a birthday cake. But what made it special was the effort my husband put in. He learned how to cook yellow rice from a YouTube video. I'm really very grateful for what he did.

Another special gift came from my bestie. Thank you for the food delivery. She knows that I don't like birthday cakes, so she sent two boxes of pizza and wingstop. And one more thing, instead of soda she sent me milo because I can't drink soda. Thank you for knowing me so well.

The third is from another friend of mine. She is also one of the people who always gives me gifts on my birthday. This year she gave me pizza, last year she gave me pizza too. It's like an annual ritual. Anyway, I'm very grateful to have such caring friends.
