LUNCH IN A BAMBOO HUT

Hello asean friends!
It's been a long time since I last greeted all asean friends here. Glad to finally be able to greet all my friends again. How is everyone? I hope everyone is healthy and always happy. This time I want to tell you a little about my experience some time ago while having lunch at a bamboo hut located in Soreang, Bandung. About two months ago I attended a gathering from my company. The event was held in the city of Bandung. We stayed one night and then on the second day before going home, we stopped at the Soreang bamboo hut. I was very enthusiastic about trying the food from this restaurant. Because I've never eaten in a bamboo hut like this before.

Because this is a company event, everything has been determined and you cannot choose your own menu. The menu prepared is fried chicken, gepuk meat, sour vegetables, fresh vegetables, crackers, tofu and fried tempeh. And another thing that you can't miss is chili sauce. Sundanese cuisine is most famous for its delicious and spicy chili sauce. Honestly, I can't eat too much of the chili sauce, because it's very spicy. Of the many kinds of menus prepared, I like the gepuk meat the most. The gepuk meat is really tender and tasty. Apart from that, the rest of the menu is also quite delicious except for the sour vegetables which I think are too sweet.

The location of the restaurant is next to rice fields, and there are lots of plants around the hut. I think the place is comfortable to visit. If it were close to my house, I would definitely eat at this place often. Unfortunately it's out of town, who knows when I'll be able to eat here again. Even though I want to try other menus, especially the seafood. I hope one day I can return to eat at Saung Soreang again.

That's a little story about the lunch experience at Saung Soreang, Bandung. I hope you enjoy reading my writing. See you again Asean friends!

I love eating in these kinds of places but I am not a big fan of sitting on the floor. It hurts my legs :)

The place looks cozy and enough and probably you got a lot of fresh air there...
I wonder what gepuk meat is though and how does it taste... :)

Yes, the place really good.
The taste of the gepuk is savory and a little sweet. Thanks for stopping by!

I had to do bit of (pre)search about gepuk. So it's an Indonesian spicy fried beef... :)

There are also spicy ones but the original ones are better in my opinion.
