Excited to begin growing again

It's been a while

It's been about six months since I grew my last cannabis plant. Time has been flying and now that my windows have been installed, I am excited to get the grow tent set up and begin my next grow.

My new windows look so much better than the old ones, especially in the bay window in my master bedroom. The windows before had a bunch of weird bars in the windows and some ghetto tint on them that we put up in an effort to try and regulate the temperature from the sun because this room gets hot as hell in the summer.

Not all of the our windows were able to be finished. The sliding door for our kitchen was not measured correctly, so that will need to be reordered. The kitchen window will also need to be reordered because it broke due to the cold. But other than that, the rest of the house is complete and I can already tell a major difference in how the house feels, which is perfect because we are expected to get 12-18 inches of snow over the next few days.

I wasn't sure what soil I was going to use for this grow. I really liked the living soil from Build-A-Soil, but in the end, I purchased the Kings Mix from Royal Gold. I really like this soil because it absorbs water really easily compared to some of the other soils that tend to allow water to pool up on the top and then just slide to the sides of the pots. This soil is also specifically formulated for cannabis, which is nice.

I am growing two Northern Lights autoflower plants. One of them in will be in a five gallon air pot and the other will be in a seven gallon cloth pot. They are both from Royal Queen Seeds, so it will be interesting to see the difference in how they grow because of their pot size. I am not sure how much of a difference the seven gallon pot will make, only because with the plants being autoflowers, they may not have the proper vegetative stage time for the roots to really take over the entire seven gallon pot.

Before I put the seeds in their pots, I soak the soil down because during the first week or so, I don't water the seedling when it sprouts. This should force the taproot to push down into the soil and become strong from the beginning.

The last thing that I did once the seeds were in the soil was ground my pot. I am not going to ground the five gallon pot because I want to see if there will be a difference between the plants because of grounding as well.

It took me about two days to get the grow room set up for this grow. I moved it from the basement to one of the rooms upstairs. The windows really help to make sure the heat in the rooms stays much longer, so that is nice. I am hoping I do not need to get a space heater for the room during the first month when the seedling prefers warmer temperatures.

I am pretty excited to get back to growing because the cannabis at the dispensaries here is not that good. It is old and dry and does not seem to be cured properly. I am going to be cutting back my growing operation for cannabis to probably two or three harvests a year. That will give me plenty of cannabis for personal use throughout the year. My next grow after this one, I am definitely going to be growing GDP because that is my top favorite strain of all time. Northern Lights is a close second though.

The soil looks perfect for the plant and not only that I guess the plant is surrounded with good optimal conditions that will allow it to grow
