The New Era: Gemini 1.0

I remember weeks ago when I had to search online for the Sam Altman ChatGPT story because I needed to spin it off for my boss for his social. And now, I am once again caught up in the search for AI with the news of Google Deepmind’s Gemini.

I love AI. Despite many beliefs about it [mostly negative], we can not deny its power and how much easier things have become thanks to AI. For many tech developers and android builders, AI has played – and is still playing – a significant role in their progress.

However, that has translated into the educational sector, economics, finance, entertainment and even our daily creative lives. AI has become a deep foundation for many employers and employees across the globe and I am not ashamed to say I am one of them.

Boss sent me a video last night asking we get ready to shift base and start incorporating the Gemini AI into our work program. Okay. One thing you should know about my boss. He stays informed on so many levels, its adorable. And then he shares this information with me and we work on it. It’s crazy when you think of it because I’m pretty sure I should be the one keeping him on top of things but he beats me every time.

So, I quickly go into a deep search of what Gemini is. I have watched the video and the potentials are promising, but I need more information. What about Gemini seems to be different?

A closer look and though I do not understand half of all the technical terms thrown in but the words music, calendar, schedule, code, write… were like the SEO that I needed to get my brain working.

My job requires me putting a whole lot of words together, and though I used ChatGPT to polish up and make the words seem a lot more professional, there are a lot of limits. I have also tried Bard and it was better on so many levels but it lacked something.

Now, I may have a clearer understanding. We create PPT [PowerPoint] slides sometimes and these times might be hooked and choked in a series of back breaking work. I had to learn to use AI for all it is worth.

I have used ChatGPT to create codes and search for stuff but I have to always do much more with the polishing and making sure all is up to date. Gemini promises I don’t have to go through that anymore. It doesn’t mean I can’t cross check information; I just don’t have to be so doubtful about it.

Who else wished that ChatGPT could read though pictures and not just take away the text? I have tried to get GPT to mark-up videos which was never done. It provides only the relevant information and leaves you to do the rest. Still, 6/10 of that information may not be accurate. I’m talking 2023 updated because a deeper search and I am finding something different.

Anyway, Gemini has me giddy for all sorts of reasons. I have been learning to run codes with AI, create image demos [especially videos] and recently just got into learning [deeply] about Excel. All these are definitely skills I need to survive in this corporate world, no harm in trying to accelerate the process, eh?

I see that I can create videos, write songs, and even engage the bot to display human intelligence in writing articles. From what Google DeepMind CEO and Co-Founder, Demis Hassabis explained in a load of an article, I understood simply that a lot of upgrades have been made to welcome Gemini.

Gemini will come in three parts which is Nano [small], Pro [medium] and Ultra [Big]. Okay, I am totally using layman’s English here but you get the picture. These three have their abilities and for now, Gemini 1.0 Nano is only incorporated to the Google Pixel 8. Gemini would be fully launched on December 13th.

Personally, I am waiting to experience what Gemini can do. It has been a great world so far with the use of AI and no one can tell me otherwise. What I love so much in the presentation is how much of a security protocol they have put in place for a cutting-edge technology such as Gemini. Which is necessary to prevent abuse.
