NIGERIA IS STILL MY COUNTRY

There's too much negativity surrounding Nigeria right now. Too much hate and a lot of bad vibes. Today, I want to take time to talk about the good Nigeria has done. For the record, this post is merely my opinion and my personal experience.

Everyone is entitled to have their beliefs and thoughts concerning something, where it's wrong is when you try to override the opinions of others or try to smother their beliefs.

I have met so many people like that. I am a pretty positive minded person and nothing sends me running faster than a pessimistic soul. I can't deal with constant negative confessions and total disregard for spiritual structure.

Before I got to this point, I was making a statement: Nigeria is going through a lot right now, but she's not dead.

I believe every one has encountered something that's sucked the life out of them. They've been pushed to a dark pit and made to go through hell. Many people today, have actually been at the gates of despair and know what hell feels like. They've swallowed the bitter fruits of life and drank the gall of difficulty.

Does this mean that a lot of them gave up? No. They kept holding on even till now, many are fighting to see the next day. So now I'm asking, what makes you better?

This beautiful land you, a citizen criticize, castigates and attacks, what have you done? As a person, how have you given back to the nation that you take from?

Clarity: I am no exception. I took the time to look back and see that I have actually done nothing worth mentioning for my Country. As individuals, we are only concerned with taking (which is a natural thing) than giving.

Many of us can't think of one thing we have done to bless the land Nigeria. All we see are how it doesn't give, how it's leaders are bad and how much of it's resources we don't eat. We don't actually push to see through the fore-eye.

Nigeria is blessed. She's just passing through what any other nation would pass through as a result of bad leadership. She never chose to be driven by gangsters but still, she was bound hand and leg, chained against her will and forced to dance to the drums of ruthless slave Masters.

It's really painful when I come across young men and women who only have negative things to say about their country. They praise foreigners and fuel God-complexes. The truth is, if you can't accept your origin and who you are, you can never be accepted elsewhere. It all starts within. Many have shut off their potentials and destroyed their opportunities because they think there's a better life outside. This might be true but every man's destiny vary.

Now I'm not saying that we shouldn't lay out our complains or that we should be silent, all I'm saying is to remember that the same land you attack is the root to the blood in your veins, the soil that provides produce and your identity.

Many countries experience famine and certain kind of disasters, yet your creator thought of you and placed you in a land with no such things. It's so easy to get carried away by all we don't have that we fail to see what we do have. This is a dangerous path to the ungrateful soul.

This is me pouring out my heart and airing out my thoughts. In no way am I trying to impose anything. I'm only trying to be set free.

So remember, everytime all you have to say about your motherland is negative, it's preferable to keep shut. The Bible says, he that is faithful in little, much more will be added. If that little towel in our mouths only has negative confessions with the little role we play as citizens, then we shouldn't expect to be placed at the top. There's a reason for spiritual hierarchy.

I do know that nothing is going so well right now, but Nigeria is also a living, breathing creation. She, like the most of us, is passing through her dark time. Just like you do for your friends, your family, do for your country and pray for her. Be there for her and still hope for her. A nation without hope is as good as dead and unless you're able to relocate without stress in four months should something happen, pray and hope for Nigeria.

God is still on the throne!
