Neoxian 2 in 1 Game Master Announcement: Where am I x Who am I

Hey guys, Neoxian Game Master here. It’s been two weeks since our last game, and that means we’ll be playing again this weekend. I’m sure everyone is excited in anticipation about the weekend’s game.

This week’s game is the first of it’s kind we’re having. @abu78’s who am I event and my game are crashing this weekend, so we agreed to do a collaboration. This week, we’ll run both my game and the who am I event at the same time in #citygames.

And to answer the question you’re thinking, yes, there’ll be prizes. The prizes will be split among @abu78 and I. The game will in total have 20 rounds, split in 10 rounds for the Who am I event and the remaining 10 for my game. Each round will have a 2k Neoxag prize pool, making a total of 40k Neoxag for the prize pool. If for any rounds, there is no winner, that party round’s prize remains in the prize pool and the round is skipped. We’ll run a separate giveaway as a bad luck giveaway for citizens who didn’t win in their rounds inhe game.

This Hive announcement to provide all the details of the game and answer some of the questions I was asked about the games. In this way, the Hive post will serve as a reference for new players who just found out about the game on Hive to refer to in order to understand the game. But we’ll still put the announcement on our City Discord too in #citygames for citizens who don’t want to check it out here on Hive. Announcements will always be posted on the city discord first so citizens have a first peek of the new game for the week.

I had thought of announcing it only in the city discord, but if I did that, the questions we answer will get lost up in chat (because the city chat is soooo busy) and new people who join the games from Hive or even new citizens will always keep asking the same questions to understand the games as well. So putting it here on Hive leaves a permanent reference to the gameplay guide and rules for everyone forever.

And Now The Reveal Of This Weekend’s Game

For the game of this weekend, we’ll be playing….

Where am I?

The game is probably self-explanatory, but I’ll add some extra information for more context.

For this game, you basically describe your surrounding as accurate as you can, and the other person has to guess where you are, based on the description provided.

So for instance if I’m in the kitchen, I say “I see a knife, a cutting board, microwave and a fridge”. Simple as that.

Initially I thought of making the game a more realistic game by making it so that you have to describe your surrounding in real time, meaning you would NEED to say where you actually are. But that sounds limiting because in that case, each player could only participate once since their position is going to be static.

Making it more imaginary breaks that set back. So instead of having to tell us about your real surroundings and where you are, you can choose to describe something arbitrary, but you need to make sure that the description given is enough for the other person to decipher your location.

The Discord Technicalities And General Gameplay Rules

• I’ll create a giveaway in the city games room and everyone reacts to it. The giveaway I create will have two winners. Everyone can enter the giveaway but only the 2 selected winners get to play.

• Player A presents person B their where am I question and B has to figure out where they are. Then it’s B’s turn to present their riddle scenario to A too, and the next giveaway starts.

• After a where am I round, the next round would be a who am I question since we’re holding the two games in alternating turns. Then the next would be back to Where am I.

• Also once you play, you need to sit out the next two rounds. You can only enter in the third round after you play.

• The total gameplay time will be 1hour 30 minutes, 2 hours (or more, but hopefully not as it’ll get stressful) if the turn up is great and we still have many citizens who haven’t played.

• Mr Dragon🐲 will play with us once a while when he has some time to spare, to grace the occasion(I doubt that’ll happen often or at all though so no promises)

For now these are pretty much all the rules that apply to My Game. Be a human being and have fun, basically. Lol. Head over to @abu78’s blog to read about the rules for the who am I event. I’m trying to keep it as simple as it can be to keep it fun. But we certainly need rules or else people will go overboard. Like I already said, as the weeks progresses, there’ll be tweaks to the rules and we’ll have different games every week(hopefully). If we want this to keep going though, the turnouts will have to be encouraging and participation should be good too.

It’s important to note though that the game is not just for people already in the Neoxian city. You can join us today and play with us this weekend!
