Sept. 13, 22: Routine, PIMP Meeting, Walking, Teaching, PPUD, TV, and Games

[Man! The only downside to getting a solid night’s sleep is the crunch it puts on the morning routine…less than an hour to work on my post today. 😳 Half the damn time will be spent cutting and pasting photos that upload in whatever random order. 😡]

Only made it from about ten to six today and it looks like a good hour and a half short. 😢 Can’t say I didn’t drag a bit in the afternoon (even considered taking a nap), but I studied for class instead and fought through.

I guess the big news regarding the morning routine this morning was the crypto markets (actually all the markets). We’d been slowly creeping up a percent or two each day, but the CPI numbers came out at 8.3% inflation (above expectations) and the markets dumped hard. We gave back about ten percent across the board, but BTC is still holding above twenty thousand for the moment, which is a good sign for now.

Otherwise, just did all the usual morning stuff and then started working on my post. I’d been preparing for teaching Calculus this evening and when I snapped out of my math reverie, I realized I had the PIMP meeting and had barely started! 😱

Got done what I could and then headed over to Discord for the meeting. I was (sort of) paying attention and I popped in and out, but I was primarily trying to get the rest of my post done on time…feel kinda’ guilty about that, but I did get a decent post done and shared.

Once the meeting ended and the also the morning routine, I was thinking about heading out for a walk. I debated back and forth about whether to take the dog since he’d been feeling sick yesterday, but when I started getting ready, he was Johnny on the spot and clearly wanted to go.

I let him set the pace and choose the route, though, and so we took it quite slow and only did the loop around downtown. It was ok, though, I was just glad he felt up to going for a bit. 😁

Starting to be and stay cooler…not my favorite sign…means Fall is on its way and then the white shite right in behind it (for another half a year 😡).

Got back, had some lunch and got a shower and had basically the whole rest of the afternoon to kill. I tried to get myself to work on the website, but that ended up being a no-go and I spent most of the time watching more YouTube videos and getting my lesson plan tight for tonight.

I also made sure to get everything set up early and got it going to where I’m able to be on video/voice on the phone and share the 3D graphs on my computer (without crazy feedback and stuff), which is helpful now that we’re starting to talk about surfaces in three dimensions, which are super hard to draw!

I had a really ambitious plan for class and I wasn’t sure if we’d be able to make it through all the material (and, unfortunately, we didn’t), but we looked at lines and planes in space and the equations for finding distances (like from a point to a plane or a point to a line) and did some some examples and then we did get through talking about cylinders and ellipsoids, but then class time was up…still have like four or five more shapes to cover; luckily the next section isn’t too bad, just cylindrical and spherical coordinate systems, so hopefully I’ll be able to get caught up next class.

After class ended I went over to Pizza for a while to chat and decompress and it was time for Pizza Power Up Day! 💪

I still needed like twelve more to hit the three hundred threshold to get the NFT, but I ended up getting even more and powered up almost 350. 🤑👍 For now the NFTs are meaningless, but I’m hoping they’ll have some added benefits someday…for now I’m making progress toward the next set of giveaways and getting that much more stake rewards. 🤑

I played my WombPlay daily challenges since they’d reset at eight and played some Splinterlands for a while, but I got aggravated and quit out and watched some more Housebroken until bedtime.

Wow! I think that’s two days in a row without any bonus shittiness in dShitty. 😯 No crime or crises, just the usual built-in mess…at least whoever is president has backed off the taxes slightly, so we at least get more than the absolute bare minimum. I guess I’m happy that they’re letting me eat cake (aristocracy jibe).

Just a typical day on Rising Star today. Had drunk fans still, so just kept going with missions. Surprisingly, I still had zero Ego after they expired (finally), so I’m keeping on for now.

Ah, HashKings. We know we’re halfway through the six day wait as the plant reversion has taken place…where, oh where, have the DHF funds gone?

I payed a little bit of Splinterlands this evening after class. I still had plenty of time to procrastinate on entering my Brawl battles, but I decided to take care of them so I didn’t risk forgetting. Played a few rounds, but only succeeded in erasing all the progress I’d made into Gold I. 🤬 Only one more day left and an entire tier to go…fuck me, it sucks.

Only ended up with one chest for my Focus rewards, but at least it was a card; could have been worse:

Claimed my SPS and vouchers for the day and still just kept them liquid. I’m kind of thinking of swapping them out to HIVE for now…then if the mood strikes I can buy some more DEC (or something else if not) rather than swapping straight into DEC and pouring it all into tower defense packs. I’m worried that twenty packs will be just enough to make me feel obligated to play, but not enough to actually make any difference (since people are probably buying a bunch more than that). Hard to tell when there isn’t a game to try out and they probably don’t even know, it’ll likely get adjusted on the fly like the other rewards systems (for good or ill).

Got my stats for last week. Took a hard hit on my sleep average there, but overall I’m really happy with it…been keeping on top of getting out instead of spending my life in VR and feeling guilty for wasting my finite time in existence…did miss that day in there being lame and not wanting to go out in the rain. 😒
