Dec. 15, 22: Routine, Errands, Crashing, Quest, Calculus Final Exam, TV, and Games

[Not quite sure what my deal is this morning…more or less fried I guess. Almost nine already and only just starting actually rolling on this post, and to be honest I’m not really feeling it today. My brain wants to go on break already, but I have grading and grades to do today…hopefully once I start writing it will get going and not feel like such a chore.]

Fell asleep just slightly before nine last night and while I remember waking up during the night I also remember thinking that I at least wasn’t stressing quite as bad as last night.

Although it was better, it was still shallow, and with getting up around five thirty I ended another hour short (just about a full night’s worth of sleep short in the last few days 😢). It hit me wicked hard, though, and I crashed out in the afternoon.

I did grade a couple questions, but didn’t get any real progress made on the Algebra finals, just tried to get on with the morning routine. Cryptos were pulling back again, but nothing crazy, and otherwise I did the usual token shifting, curation, got caught up on Discord and then got to work on my post…was a pretty epic one at fifteen hundred words, but it doesn’t just magically happen, takes me a good hour or more every morning (but it is still cool to be able to earn crypto…that hasn’t worn off 😁; even if I just always stake everything and never take any profit - don’t even have a way to get to fiat at this point. 😮).

Once I got my post published and shared it was time to head into town to run my weekly errands to the smoke store and the puffity-puff store. I nearly made it out the door without the dog noticing, but when I grabbed my keys he was Johnny Whimpering on the Spot, so I took him with! 😂

Got back right about time for lunch and I had my usual sandwich, worked through a couple new examples for the review this evening, and edited the exam to include a triple integral in cylindrical coordinates. 🤓

At that point, though, I hit the wall hard and even though I was tempted to test out the new Quest controller Wenche got me for Christmas, I didn’t even have the motivation to do that. I put on a Jet Li movie: The Sorcerer and the White Snake and it was alright…to the extent that it kept me awake for most of it, anyway. I would guess that it was around the last half hour or so of it that I passed out.

Slept for about an hour and, luckily, didn’t feel too bad when I got up. I did have the usual craving for something sweet and I got a bowl of cereal for early dinner. I still had several hours before class and I couldn’t resist, I had to try out the new Quest controller.

I had been worried that it was a software and not a hardware problem, but the new controller works awesome and the problem is completely fixed! 😁😁 However, that means a greater temptation to play rather than accomplish anything in the real world, so kind of a double-edged sword. Still, very happy that I can play any of the games now.

I tried a couple times to complete the level I was on in the last FPS I was playing before the controller went caput but I still died in the last few seconds…gave up and played a couple of the new rock and roll song pack on Beat Saber (I was skeptical that the style of music would work, but the ones I played were quite fun)!

Quit out and got a shower and got everything set up for class. We did another run through of the exam and I did challenge myself to make up nearly all the questions on the fly (except the harder ones I worked through earlier). We did well and got through it only about ten minutes late again, but right at the end of the last question of the semester I had a total brain fart and thought I’d made a mistake that I didn’t even make. 😡 That really bugs me and is an embarrassing way to finish, but it is what it is.

After class I was hungry again and I made myself a leftover turkey taco and we watched a short movie: Murderville Christmas Special. I kind of dozed off for a bit in the middle, but woke up at the end, switched to SuperStore and then fell back to sleep almost immediately.

[Looky there! As I had hoped, once I got started it flowed and here I am with a decent thirteen hundred word post and ten minutes to spare/edit. 💪 Now to get on with grades…]

Wow! Believe it or not, for the first time ever I think, the stated dShitty income and the actual income agree! They say I get nothing and they paid out nothing, fantastic!!! I thought the students were supposed to guarantee a base income…guess they fucked that over too, can’t let players earn anything, got to control the token price (so that only the big bois can dump on it and get anything out). For the last week or so they’ve paid nothing more days than not, long past time to call this flaming dumpster of dog shit what it is.

Seems that I wasn’t wrong about Rising Star having server issues. Apparently the problems persisted and now the site is unreachable entirely. My one click for the day will have to wait I guess.

Well, it seems that the Splinterlands season has ended because, hooray, my rental income absolutely cratered. 😡🤬 Got $1.5 (in DEC, of course, so wait a minute and it will be less) for the day, but at least that meant the fee was slightly lower than it has been.

Claimed my SPS interest and paid the fee and I’m back above a hundred liquid, so thinking about swapping some out…been spending a lot of the HIVE I had saved up, but the INK snapshot is (or has already) taking place, so the entries I have are probably it, means I don’t have such an immediate urge to spend, so I might try and wait to see if the price recovers at all first.

GLX:

I’m still just claiming and staking the GLX drop, but it definitely has lost its seratonin bump now…I don’t know why I held out hope that this token would maintain its value considering I knew well enough that it would be like SPS and lose value as the supply increases; now that there’s pack staking I guess it’s gotten that much worse.

Nice! Looks like they did a double today which makes up for the other day when it was super low (think it was H-E node issues which have been frequent and severe lately). 🤑 Got a bit more from airdrops as well but still no mining rewards.
