Two Return Witnesses to Vote On

I know I usually do my Hive Goals posts on Monday but I have a headache and am not in the mood to dive into the numbers this morning. I'll push that post back until tomorrow. Well... provided the headache is gone by then; it's been with me since Friday so far, and 3–4 days is usually the limit of these when they hit, so I'm hopeful that this will be the last day for now.

In lieu of that post, I want to briefly cover some exciting news.

If you missed it, a few days ago @sircork came back. Back to save us all in our hour of need, maybe. It was funny timing, being that the latest Splinterland drama seemed to happen exactly at the same time, giving the illusion that nothing much has changed from the old days when these kinds of dramas were much more common.

(I suppose nothing really has changed from those days, except we have fewer users and the concentration of power is more centralized, both of which may have something to do with the fewer big dramas that do hit)

But that's not the big news. The big news is that @enginewitty has restarted his witness with sircork's help and they have both set up a joint witness. I urge you to go give them a vote.

Here's how, if you are unsure. Go to this page.

Scroll down to the very bottom of the page, let more of the list load, then scroll down again and let more of the list load. That should give you enough names to find them.

Then do a Find. On Mac that is ⌘F (cmd-f). On Windows it is probably ⌃F (ctrl-f). I haven't used Windows in decades, so Windows users please confirm that.

Anyway, do a find and search for enginewitty. At the time of this writing, he is right around position 111/100

Then activate the find command again and search for pollenation. At the time of this writing, it is at 145/119.

Both of these are good guys, have done a lot of good for our chain for many years, stretching back to the St**mit days, and very much deserve the vote. Even if you don't have a lot of Hive Power, any vote helps. I urge you to give them a shot.

Hi there! David LaSpina is an American photographer and translator lost in Japan, trying to capture the beauty of this country one photo at a time and searching for the perfect haiku. He blogs here and at laspina.org. Write him on Twitter or Mastodon.

Well thank you for the kind words and detailed voting instructions for folks who might need or want them!

We look forward to trying to rekindle some of the communal spirit and excitement and enthusiasm of the old days, and both @enginewitty and myself have made posts about it, as well as one on @YouAreHOPE discussing it's imminent restarting as well.

Good, fresh, exciting new optimistic times ahead! Full speed!

And thank you in advance to anyone who feels compelled to add their votes so our voices can amplify your voices on the chain!

Likewise, btw I just read/used one of your posts instructions to do a tiny trial of hive basic income pointed at @YouAreHOPE as I start making very slow moves to try and re-establish it's account and activities for the good of the globe as well. Thanks for that post which explained it so succinctly.

Hot as hell, over 105 almost everyday, with near 80% humidity. Burning up this year, man. But otherwise, all is good. We will have our fireworks festival soon, so that is always a good time.
