Three Tune Tuesday ・ Oh the Harmonics
Greetings and salutations Hivers. Today let's go into another Three Tune Tuesday post.
As always, thanks to @ablaze for making this series. Lots of people participate in it! Follow the tags to find a ton of good music recommendation.
Today I have another mix of different genres. I had a plan coming in, but then one thing led to another and at the end of every song, my inner ear suggested what it wanted to hear next, kind of like a internal DJ that was unconstrained by genre. It wasn't quite what I had been planning, but it worked.
Toni Lindgren feat. Reina del Cid and Josh Turner - Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)
I just had a few lines from the original in my head. A YouTube search, however, brought me to this gem. These guys give an amazing cover of the song. The harmonizing here is unbelievably good.
Beatles - Because (Love version)
No doubt about it, when we think of amazing harmonics we think of either the Beatles or the Beach Boys. I could go with either one here, but a certain song popped in my head. The regular version of the song already shows off some great harmonics, but this version produced by Giles Martin for the Love album is just mind-blowing in how it shows them off. Give it a listen and see if you agree.
Just for the record, I think Giles hit it out of the park with his remixing on Love. It is such an amazing album, giving completely new looks at so many classic songs. If you haven't heard it yet, go out and listen from start to finish.
Annnnd with the theme I seem to have hit upon here, you might expect my next pick to be something like Simon & Garfunkel's Sound of Silence. But no, that's not quite how the DJ in my head works. The next song to pop into my head was non other than...
Dire Straits - Sultans Of Swing
What can I say... this song goes with almost everything.
So what's your favorite?

Wow, lots of people highlighting Dire Straits today. Not me, but this is the second one I have seen today! I love some of these unknown artists that cover other people on YouTube. It's actually one of those only things I take a deep dive on when it comes to YouTube.
