Yesterday was Hive Power-Up Day! The day we all look forward to when we can all increase our stake in this network at the same time in a nice show of support and solidarity.

I powered-up 500 Hive. Not as much as I was hoping, but not a bad amount. In today's post let's look at my power-up and also take a look at where that puts me in my Hive goals for the year.

What is Hive Power-Up Day? Let's get a brief intro out of the way for any of you who may be unfamiliar with the day.

Hive-Power Up Day (HPID) is when we all power-up some Hive. Pretty simple, eh? Powering up has many benefits, such as increasing your vote and your stake in this platform. Increasing your vote has a lot of benefits, among which are you can reward people more and you can make more in curation. We can of course power up on any day of the month; HPUD is just here for an added social push.

Hive Power Up Day uses UTC time, meaning it just ended a few minutes ago as of this posting. I know, it's confusing. Luckily we have plenty of ways to track the UTC day so we don't have to think much. This is my favorite time zone conversion site, but you can also go to the Hivebuzz page, login, and they will show you a countdown clock.

If you have at least 10 Hive that you can power-up, you will get a badge from doing so. Badges are silly, but they are also fun. Gotta collect them all. Think of them as achievements in your favorite game. If you are under level 70 then you might get some big rewards for powering-up as well, like a lot of Hive in delegations. One of those rewards is from me!

Alas! I'm over level 70, so no rewards for me. But it's ok, I enjoy supporting the platform.

Anyway, with that short bit out of the way, I powered-up 500 Hive as I already mentioned. I almost forgot actually, only doing so right before I went to bed. But then I happened to jump into the TeamPh Discord server before bed and they were talking about it. Lucky!

In addition to HPUD, I also was able to meet Hive Power-Up Month (HPUM) for March. That means I powered up at least 1 Hive everyday. It was more than that actually, as I usually put in a random number between 1 and 10 everyday when I powered up. No reason for that—just to amuse myself. This makes the second HPUM I've made in a row. Woohoo!

So anyway, let's look at some numbers.

For the month of March I increased my HP by 892.2. Minus the 500 I just powered-up and minus the....hmm..we'll say 50 from the Hive I powered-up everyday for HPUM and we see I got 342.2 from the half of posts that powers up automatically. That's pretty good. I'm tempted to say that's lousy because that averages only a little over 11 per day and I really want to make that at least 20, but let's try to keep things positive, so pretty good.

Well, ok, 11 per day isn't too bad, anyway. In addition to that stat, I see I had an average of 2.122 curation for the month. It was 1.889 in February, so that was a nice improvement! Let's see if I can't improve both of those numbers for April.

I'll go into this in more detail in my Hive Goals post tomorrow, but my goal for Hive this year is to be close enough to 25k that the January 2024 HPUD will push me over. How does yesterday's power up help me towards that goal? Well...

Still far away, but getting there. And yesterday's power-up helped!
