Trust me I tried
Well well, I did say this before, I am going to give the man my middle finger, and I am supposed to take my time out regardless of work. I tried four days and it worked! Until it didn't.
My initial motive is to show my boss I can leave work before and not taking too much workload for someone they failed to haired, and I will have to take on that extra role. For a few days, I choose to walk away from my work desk on time and say fuck you to anyone who is trying to warn my those unfinished work.
On the fourth day, a client called from the hospital, and he wasn't able to admit since his policy has not been renewed. I know my right, it's not my job if the client did not renew earlier. But, the client already emailed me 3 days ago and I didn't pick it up. So, it came and bit me for the work that was not done.
Worst of all, he's not even my client. Supposed to be the other person who had resigned months ago. Due to my business unit being short of man power(try 1), I'm the only person "should" be responsible for all clients belonging to my unit.
Now, I have 700 unread emails, everyday I am dealing with unfinished work from 4 or 5 days ago. I can still choose to not give a fuck, but in the end these shit keeps coming back and fuck me. I was left with no choice but to continue going back to my previous routine, continue working 16 hours a day trying to play the catch up game.
I don't hate the job, but I really dislike the situation where I'm the only idiot doing all the work that was supposed to be a 3 person's job. Oh on top of all that crap, the led tube above my head started acting up. It goes dark for a couple of seconds and then quickly restores back to normal brightness. Every time the maintenance man came in, this little piece of shit refused to go dark. That leaves me no choice but to stand by my phone camera and capture this for the maintenance guy. Again, when he comes, it doesn't blink at all.
On the other day a minor road accident right opposite of the office, causes the entire Kuala Lumpur chaos due to half of the road being obstructed. I went and took a photo, posted it to the WhatsApp channel and congratulated those who were stuck in the jam, feeling a bit better knowing other stuck I. miserable jam.

This comment is mostly for entertainment purposes. It may be advice for some people, but not for all people. For some it is better to work harder and then end up being the one making an insurance claim because you are in the hospital.
Err... I don't have an insurance, despite being in the industry for decades. One fine day if I collapse at my workplace, they send me to the opposite (yes, one of the major hospital is just across the street), that will be their surprise moment that I'm not covered.
No I'm not kidding. I think I will take my chance with the government. I've read enough statistics, either get told to go home as there's nothing can be done by the government, or get cut many times at the privatized hospital that giving false hope to the family, and still die from the same cause of illnesses.
On matters like this i just do what my wife says. She took out a bunch of insurance on me. I would rather go quickly, it seems to be less painful. The doctor won't give me my results over the phone, he said I have to come in person and he is taking the day off today so he said come tomorrow. Whether it is 3 months or fifty more years, it is relatively short. I feel healthy and that counts for something.^^
Good news. It's benign and removed. Stay out of the sun and smile more^^
!LOL
Congratulations buddy.

Damn it Dave, can't help but reflect on how much I wished the driver gig had worked out better. Seems in some ways your new job is better, but also presents you with a lot of situations like your old job. I guess at least you are not the guy with an upside down car in the middle of that traffic jam.
