To infinity and beyond traffic jam

I know Jakarta and Bangkok being declared as one of the worst traffic jam city in South East Asia, as a local Kuala Lumpur resident, I seriously can't tell how much better we are 😂 I've been to both cities mentioned above, I must say our Kuala Lumpur traffic is equally bad, if not worst.

Over the new year holiday, we decided to spend our first day of the year with our ex-colleagues Laura and Andy. The guy used to be my fellow technician friend, the wifes used to be managers 🤣 I must say, both these technician boy got really lucky, each of them score a manager.

I'm not here to tell story of how to score a manager, so let's take a short tour with me to Sunway Pyramid, one of the legendary shopping mall beside a lagoon theme park.

  1. Traffic cutting across between Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya, the most convenient way from north to south will be LDP. We're fortunate to leave home early, it took us only 40 minutes to get there in 16km distance 🤣 try it on work day, that's probably two hours.
  2. Inside the mall, you don't go around and look for a parking lot nearest to the entrance. Please do standard practice, whenever you see a place, just park it. My driver wasn't doing that, and in the end we spent another 40 minutes searching for a parking lot, and in the end we had to ditch the car by the side. Not forgetting to take a photo of the luxury car who does the same. In the event of getting a fine, I'll be sure to drag that Mercedes-Benz together.
  3. Padini concept store is one of the most well known brand locally. As we walk through the outlet, immediately is a human wall queuing towards the fitting room. I almost going to ask someone if clothing are given for free.
  4. Not only the fitting room queue, the payment counter is another zig zag of human maze, as soon as I walk pass, crossing through the line, people stare at me as if I'm trying to lite fire by cutting queue. If you seen the kind of fierce look in their eyes, you will be quickly get out of the place.
  5. Lunar new year decoration is already up. This is particularly standard practice in Malaysia, after Christmas, immediately the ambient will be changed to red and nostalgic Chinese new year song that always has the lyrics of crazy rich, super rich, gambling get rich, good luck rich, even walked by the street can kicked a gold nugget kinda stuff.
  6. One of the highlight of Sunway Pyramid being, it has 4 season theme in the mall. looking at the roof, it sometime painted at bright blue sky.
  7. The main concierge has a Giza theme and a huge fan on the roof. Not cold, but very windy and comfort.
  8. I don't see much of lockdown impact, perhaps over the past few months they have restored most of the tenants by giving rental discounts? This is easily one of the most crowded mall I've been to since the pandemic.
  9. Whilst I was going through the directory searching for the restaurant we're supposed to meet, came across this arcade shop. it's been years since I've seen a proper arcade inside a mall. Gaming machine simply hard to survive, comparing the crowd in this arcade against the mall, simply doesn't justify. Oh another thing, the name suddenly reminds me of @futuremind , and that color theme very much matched with his previous purple canna cultivation room.

This post is the highlight of my morning. The arcade name literally looks like it says FUTUREMIND fun zone. I feel famous right now 😎
Thanks for that ego boost to start the new year hahaha 😂

If you have a game room, with the classic pacman, the original 1st edition street fighter 2, time crisis, virtual cop, Daytona USA, metal slug, ridge Racer 2, purple room full of happy plants and some ready to smoke joints, I think I can daily chill 16 hours in it (probably for the rest of my life)🤣

We had also a place here where we experienced traffic. It was somehow irritating but what could we do its the only road we can pass. The mall looks so stunning huh? A lot of buyers were there. For sure they thought that you will attempt to insert the line that is why they stare at you like that. Thanks for sharing this one. Stay safe and God bless.

I am surprised arcades can still survive in an age of wifi at home and a screen in everyone's hand. Well, I guess it's safe to assume the arcades nowadays are full of hand games rather than arcade video games like when I was a kid. I can remember watching older kids play Mortal Kombat for hours, then finally getting my chance to use my quarter and get killed within a minute.

Mortal Kombat? That is "new" for me 😂 my arcade life started with Tetris. I haven't spend a single dime on MK given too many choices during that time, busy upgrading my knowledge different variations of street fighter franchise.

These modern arcades are mostly racing simulators.
