Up Close & Personal
(Edited)
Getting so close to that glacier, it feels like you could almost touch it! Wow, this part of the trail is just incredible. Surreal. The Victoria glacier within touching distance (almost). At this point, we were at about ninety minutes into this hike, with about thirty minutes to go. The higher we go the greater the excitement. Thankfully the weather turned in our favour, just as we approached the trailhead. Perfect weather for this journey to the tea hut, here on the Plain of six glacier’s trail. Above Lake Louise, inside Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada.

Wow, this is an extraordinary journey, it's almost like you can touch it, the closer you get to the destination, the more all your efforts have paid off with its beauty.
Are they your comrades for climbing?
No, just some strangers that happened to be there!
The view really looks so beautiful there, and you can see that you are walking on a peak behind which there is a beautiful hill

Honestly I do feel like I could touch them, like it was so so close, it's dizzying 😇. Thank you for sharing.
A stunning feeling it was, thanks for looking @tranquil3.
You're writing about the Tea Hut. Is this some kind of special place? Or is that just the name of the rest point?
There is a small place that serves tea and snacks for those finishing the hike. It is officially called the “plain of six glacier’s tea hut”.
Wow, the view of the iceberg is very beautiful, the way you take the photo makes the image look very beautiful, extraordinary
It was a lot of fun taking pics on this trail. Thanks for looking.
Wow. What a place to hike…
You would love it.
I bet the pictures don’t really do it justice, looks amazing
I like colour and black/white but if I had to pic only one I’d go colour every time
I’d probably agree with you on the colour choice. Real life usually trumps any photos, mostly.
You hikers are really brave people because I can just imagine the heights you guys have had to climb and then looking downward..... It gives me the bumps but the glaciers are really beautiful.
I never get too close to the steep edges..believe it or not, I do have a small fear of heights.
Wao! I love the second photo, the landscape is really majestic 🙌.
Thanks. So many photo ops on this journey.
I like that mountain with them 4 big heads & I like the Tea Hut

That's a gorgeous glacier. The closer you get the more you realize just how bit that mountain and glacier really are... Makes you feel small in comparison.
Great shots!
It really was a surreal experience. Thanks @thebighigg.
