Turquoise Cross River

IMG_20240919_131917_Original.jpeg

The beautiful Cross river is a tributary of the mighty Kootenay river, and it has this amazing turquoise colour to it. Now I have come across many a turquoise lake/river in the past, but this one has a real deep turquoise look to it, unlike any others I’ve seen. The river is located around the Nipika Mountain resort area, and just east of Kootenay park, British Columbia. I wonder what kind of fish I could catch here? After a quick search, apparently Trout, Mountain whitefish, and Salmon can be found swimming in these waters. Thanks for stopping by.

This is one of the few times that the color pictures completely dominate the black and white... although picture 4 with its swirl of onyx and galena and silver is quite the stunner in beauty also!

The turquoise color is quite deep and beautiful, at a glance one might think you added some extra layer of colors when editing the image. So are waters like this salt or fresh water?

This is fresh water. Nowhere's close to the ocean at all. The water colour was really incredible, I was surprised!

Such awesome pictures, the bottom color was my favorite today, but they were all great. Colors were today's winners in my book. That looks like a great place to hike and visit!
