Tropical Waterton Lake
(Edited)
Under normal conditions, the lakes in our National Parks would be mostly colder (and of course beautiful). Waterton Lake felt like being in the tropics! Hot, humid, and gorgeous turquoise sea water. But, of course this is not sea water, it is an inland mountainous lake. It is also one of the deepest lakes in our national parks. Close to 500 feet or 155 metres at its deepest. I believe Waterton is one of Alberta’s hidden gems. If you want to avoid the swarming crowds, and overpriced restaurants, give Waterton a try. I recommend it.

Beautiful lake 😍
Indeed it was fantastic.
Can't believe the water is 500 feet deep, such a beauty. There are also lesser people here..
Incredible actually, I would not have guessed that. Thanks for stopping by.

I like the natural contrast between the lake and the mountain, it looks in perfect harmony.
Pretty water, and a good escape from the heat! Those old glacially formed lakes can be really deep, but they sure re pretty. They also tend to be ice cold... What a gorgeous place, no wonder the US has a park on the other side of the border as well!
I’m really curious now about visiting glacier park. Maybe next year. Thanks @thebighigg.
Reminds me of Hawaii.
Yes it does!
