Tranquillity

IMG_20230901_124222_Original.jpeg

First thought that comes to mind while looking at the first photo is: tranquillity. Yes the feeling I had as I walked around the lake was of tranquility. Like a medicine of sorts, but this kind is not produced by big pharma, this is the kind of experience produced by big nature! I’ll take big nature over big pharma any day of the week. They say that people that spend more time in nature and less time in the concrete jungle, live longer and have a happier life. I’m pretty sure that is an accurate statement. Time will ultimately tell! These photos were captured as I made my way around Elbow Lake, located in beautiful Kananaskis country, Alberta. Kananaskis country is located east of Banff National Park, and is a great place to go, if you want to avoid some of the larger crowds. That being said, it can still get rather busy on the roads, but once you are up in the mountainous areas, the crowds thin out quite a lot.

I like the composition of the first image, the two logs in the water lead the view to the vanishing point. Besides, we can see that the water is very transparent.

Certainly there are photographs that manage to transmit a lot and this one in particular lives up to its title, it transmits a lot of tranquility, beautiful photographs.

Beautiful shot's, amazing views and yes I do agree with you, nature living you will live longer. City life should only be for vacations, so that way you can see what big pharma has done to the masses. haha. but true.

I like that, “vacations in the city”. 9 months in nature, maybe 3 months in the city. Even that is too long lol..

I was thinking give the city a week, by the forth day your energy is drained. haha

Nature is our mother. She knows us as no one else is capable, and she knows that we are irremediably destined to merge in her arms at the end of our days. For that reason she lulls us with so much beauty, telling us quietly in her ear to go on our way with joy, full of optimism and without fear.

It is a beautiful place for photography!

Thank you so much dear @daveks for sharing your unique work!

I can almost smell that 'tranquility'. I reckon that air must be so pure. #awesome

What a beautiful place! I love those pictures. Still amazes me how much the black and white change the character of the pictures, very cool!
